The representative from the municipality mentioned that the plans to transform Johannesburg (South Aftica) into a smart city are well under way. In connection with the suburban libraries, they are moving the Killarney library into a shopping centre as part of this plan
The attendees had no idea what the rep meant by a ‘smart city’. When I told them, some thought I was a loony, others were perplexed, some shocked. I hope I ‘woke’ some up.
