Sergio Aguero was left shocked after finding out about the tragic death of Colombian midfielder Andres Balanta.

Balanta, 22, sadly lost his life when he collapsed during training for Argentine first division side Atletico Tucuman and 40 minutes of resuscitation failed to save him.

The Colombian had played for his country’s youth teams and had hopes of a future with the senior side after moving to Argentina in July.

Aguero was forced to retire from football aged 33 last year, soon after making his debut for Barcelona.

The City all-time top scorer experienced chest discomfort during a match against Alaves in October 2021 and was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia, he later retired on medical advice.

Megha Thakur, a former Saugeen-Maitland Hall don and TikTok influencer, passed away Nov. 24. She was 21 years old.

Thakur was a popular social media influencer, whose content focused on body positivity and self confidence. Her TikTok account reached over 900,000 followers and approximately 32 million likes since she posted her first video in November 2019. 

Thakur studied computer science at Western University in fall 2021. She lived in Delaware Hall in her first year before moving to Saugeen to work in her second year. She was previously a model for CAISA fashion show, the largest student-run charity fashion show in Canada. 

On Megha's Instagram her parents said she "suddenly and unexpectedly passed away."

Sarah Katz, a student in the College of Arts and Sciences in SAS, died September 10, 2022, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She was 21.

Ms. Katz was pursuing majors in international relations and health & societies and a minor in East Asian language and civilization.

She returned to campus this semester eager to begin working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a health communications intern.

Her family issued the following statement: “We are devastated by this tragic passing of our beloved Sarah. She loved the University of Pennsylvania so much and was so happy and thriving. Sarah was fully engaged in so many aspects of campus life, academics, clubs, socially, and through internships. Words cannot express how much of a loss we are feeling.”

A Starkville Academy student passed away at the age of 16. Walker Farriel Montgomery died on December 1 with his funeral being held on December 5.

According to his obituary, Montgomery excelled in both academics and football, and had “an innate and boundless appreciation and love for the outdoors.”

Speaking at General Assembly Meeting #69 on December 12, Dr Stephanie Seneff (🇺🇸) gave an eye-opening presentation on the science behind Covid-19 jab injuries.

"This one [paper] looked particularly at five patients who died unexpectedly within seven days of their COVID vaccine. And they propose that molecular mimicry is what's causing this," explained Dr Seneff.

"It's basically the spike protein produces these sky-high levels of these IgG antibodies. And then those antibodies start attacking your own tissues through this mechanism of molecular mimicry, meaning that the sequence in the spike protein that the antibody matches resembles a sequence in the other protein, that's a human protein, that will attack it. A human protein in the heart to cause heart damage."

Stephanie is a Senior Research Scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. She has a BS from MIT in biology and MS, EE, and PhD degrees from MIT in electrical engineering and computer science.

Speaking at General Assembly Meeting #69 on December 12, Dr Jessica Rose (🇨🇦) revealed how VAERS data is being added retroactively due to a large backlog of adverse event reports.

"Say your grandma's asking you about the shots because you have a science degree, and you're like, 'Well, I'll check VAERS, I'll see what the severe adverse event count is doing,'" said Dr Rose.

"At week 10, you would only be aware of 7,065 adverse event reports in VAERS when it was really 26,601 after the backlog was added months later," she explained.

"And so, your assessment would have been based on incomplete data, and therefore, your assessment might have been wrong."

Jessica is a mathematician, biologist, and data analyst with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a master’s degree in Immunology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She also holds a PhD in Computational Biology from Bar Ilan University and 2 post-doctoral degrees: one in Molecular Biology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and one in Biochemistry from the Technion Institute of Technology.
