It's been 40 days since the world lost a beautiful soul. The world was robbed a beautiful soul. Why? Because of whom he loved، the gender of the people he loved. And because of the bigotry, inhuman laws and hatred.

Alireza was about to leave Iran to seek asylum in Turkey when he was brutally murdered by his male relatives. He stopped by his home to sell his cellphone to help pay for his stay in Turkey. For the past 40 days, we have been morning his loss and are hunted by the thought that if there was more help waiting for him in Turkey, he might have still been alive.

In his memory, we start this fundraising to help Farsi speaking refugees in Turkey. We realize that living in Turkey is not the best solution for queers fleeing the Islamic Republic and its neighboring countries that live under strictest of anti queer and LGBTQIA+ laws. But sometimes it is that or being killed. In these situations, we must help. We must support these beautiful lives who are after their most basic human rights.

Queerkadeh is a non-profit organization in Canada and works to represent, bring visibility and improve the lives of Persian speaking queers across the world. We held a vigil for Alireza 40 days ago and today with your help, we want to do more. All of your donations to this memorial will go to support refugees in Turkey to help them build more tolerable lives until they are given asylum.

Help us keep Alireza's memory alive while trying to make this world a better place for everybody. Alireza is gone, help us not to have to say goodbye to another beautiful soul.
