Creating a visually appealing and strong resume is crucial for making a positive first impression

1. Contact Details - At top: Name (in a large font); At bottom: Contact Information (Phone number, Email)

2. Education - List your educational background in reverse chronological order; Include the degree, College, Date and %/ CGPA

3. Work Experience - List your professional experience in reverse chronological order; Include: Job title, Company name; Dates of employment

4. Skills - Highlight relevant technical and soft skills; Language Skills; Software Skills etc

5. Projects - If applicable, include a section highlighting relevant projects; Provide a brief description, your role, and the outcome

6. Certifications, Awards and Honors - If Any

7. Hobbies and Interests - Include personal interests or hobbies if they are relevant or showcase valuable skills; Also be prepared for In - Depth questioning on them!

Some guidelines for XAT

1) If your centre is on metro lines, prefer to go via them. Starts at 6:00 at the earliest, but varies between lines. Hassle free. Autos etc are usually available because they also know business opportunities. 😁

2) XAT essay/ GK will be evaluated only after selection for GD/PI round.

3) For essay
A. Read a lot. I have been saying that from the beginning.
B. Write so that anyone can understand.
C. Don't use jargon, abbreviations
D. Remember KISS. Keep It Simple, samjhe??
E. Read. A lot.

We can't really increase font size too much on resume, can we?

Aand this is reason, boys and girls, why we need a master resume!

A master resume has every accomplishment, no matter how small or big, listed down. You don't decide what's useful and what's not. You just jot everything down.

It is very easy to decide what's relevant or not when you have it written in front of you, but a really long time to remember them in the first place.

Same but during GDPI

See, there is this thing called as GD/PI.

Right now you are facing some 3 Lakh odd aspirants, bulk which are not really serious in their preparation. So, its easier now.

But during GDPI, all are really sincere candidates. Plus, there are no faculties/ mentors which go to that round!

And, unfortunately, people don't focus on this round as much as they should.

Ace your Interview

1. Learn to Introduce Yourself Well - One of the most frequently asked and least prepared questions, Properly prepare for this question to make a good first impression

2. Prepare yourself - The key to feeling confident is preparing about anticipated questions. Prepare a basic structure for some common questions asked in the MBA interviews

3. Be Well-Updated - Keep up with the current affairs, esp in the business world, and brush up some basic concepts in management.

4. Knowledge About Subjects - Prepare on subjects in your graduation. Think about favorite and least favorite subjects.

5. Note Down Your Key Talking Points - Don't rote the answers. Make a skeleton structure and verbal delivery should be on the spot - So that it seems sincere.

6. Keep your Documents Ready - Keep the documents in a folder, neatly arranged, reverse chronologically, under major resume headers

7. Groom Yourself Well - Wear nice. Look sharp. Combed hairs. If you want beard, let it look good. Nothing scrappy. Get comfortable in suit you plan to wear. First impression is lasting impression.

8. Go for Mock Interviews - Get feedback. Incorporate feedback. Sincerely work on the development areas. This will help you gain more confidence in the main interview.

9. Practice and then Practice some more - The more you practice, the better and confident you will become. Create a mental structure in place.

10. Be Humble - Manners maketh a man (and woman). Follow basic etiquette. Respect the interviewing panel. Don't pretend to be someone you are not. Answer personal questions honestly. Don't brag unnecessarily.

11. Be Calm - This is the most important quality that a lot of people lack. Sometimes you may not have an answer. But, what really matters is how you handle the situation. Try to stay as relaxed as possible on the day of the interview.
