CAT 2026 Registration Guide Released – Important Things Every Aspirant Should Know Before Filling the Form

1. Once you submit & pay, you cannot edit anything important

2. Use an email and mobile number which you will retain for long time
All future communication—including login credentials, admit card updates and admission-related communication—will happen through these only.

3. Registration dates
* Opens: 3 August 2026 (10:00 AM)
* Closes: 15 September 2026 (5:00 PM)
Don't wait until the last day because payment gateway issues and server load are common during the final hours.

4. You don't have to complete the form in one sitting

5. Your name must exactly match your Class 10 certificate

6. Be especially cautious of the Photo specifications
* Keep extra printed copies of the same photo for exam day.

7. Marks calculation
For Class 10 and 12:
Use marks of all subjects appearing on the marksheet, irrespective of your board's "Best of Five" or similar policy.
For Graduation:
Use aggregate percentage as per university norms. If no official conversion exists for CGPA, follow the conversion method mentioned in the guide.

8. Work experience
Only count full-time work after graduation

Do NOT count Internship/ Articleship/ Part-time work/ Projects/ Work before graduation
Also, work experience is calculated as on 31 July 2026.

9. Preview before payment
Use the Preview option and verify every entry. Save the form after submitting. Keep screenshots of the payment.

10. OBC-NCL / EWS / SC-ST / PwBD candidates
A) Keep your certificates ready before starting.
B) The application requires certificate details as well as PDF uploads wherever applicable.
C) If you dint have a currently valid certificate - Apply for one now. Upload the previous one with an undertaking form available on the website.

# Final advice

Don't treat CAT registration as a 15-minute task. Keep these ready before you begin:
* Soft Copy of Passport photo
* Soft Copy of Signature
* Marksheets
* Soft Copy of Category certificate (if applicable)
* Work experience details

Take your time. There is no urgency. ONCE YOU SUBMIT, YOU CANNOT EDIT THE DETAILS.
Verify every field, preview the form, and only then proceed to payment.

The reason you ask that question is because you forgot the learning process. You learn by launching yourself into the unknown. You start doing even if you don't know what you're doing.

You're supposed to feel overwhelmed. Overwhelm is a sign that your mind is ready to learn so it can get back to baseline.

Set a goal. Start building. Encounter a problem. Then research, ask questions, get specific advice so you can fill the knowledge gaps that allow you to learn.

If you are constantly asking questions but don't have anything to apply the answers to, it's no wonder why you aren't making progress.

Historically, SNAP rewards early Registrations with a free, official SNAP mock test.

It is a useful resource, going by the past trends.

What work experience should I put in? Will internship be counted as a Work Experience? What if my work experience was along graduation?

Part-time/ Project/ Internship/ Articleship/ Pre-graduation work experience should not be entered and will not be counted as work experience.

Other than that, doesn’t matter what kind of work experience you have. As long as you have the supporting paperwork, for point allocation purpose, teaching in a school is same as working in an MNC

How to reduce maths anxiety!

1. Focus on the idea that math is a skill that can be developed with practice, rather than a fixed ability.

Secret option in mocks

There is an option in each of your mock or sectional tests to view the entire section at one go.

If you click on that option, you can look at the entire section in one go and identify which are the easier Questions or Sets or RCs that you would like to attempt first.

This should help you make a better strategy.
