Dear Students,

This is to inform you that Unacademy has filed three separate arbitration applications against Nimisha Bansal, Ankush Lamba, and me before the commercial court in Bangalore. Unacademy has obtained an ex-parte temporary injunction against Ankush Lamba Sir and me, restraining us from teaching our students or posting educational content on any media until this case is decided, without any notice to us and without an opportunity to present our side of this dispute and without informing the court about the crucial upcoming IBPS PO and SBI PO exams. Nimisha ma’am was on caveat so she could present her side and prevent them from securing an ex-parte order.

They secured this interim order on 13.10.2023, which we are contesting before the commercial court and will do so at all legal forums available to us. I apologize for not having taken classes since 15th October and the grave hardship that this has caused my students. It broke my heart not to teach you before the all-important exams on November 1st, 2nd, and 5th. I have shown respect for the order of the court. I have full faith in the legal process and the judiciary, and I believe that it will very soon realize that it is I who have been wronged by the new policy of Unacademy, which left me with no option but to part ways. I could only hope it was amicable and not adversarial in this manner.

I cannot be forced to continue to work against my will, and I cannot be forced to curtail my free speech and my right to teach my students, which are my fundamental rights as a citizen. I have belief that we will be able to secure a favorable order this month itself, and I will once again be able to teach my students.

I put out this statement to allay a lot of misinformation floating around on social media. I request my students to stand with me in this tough time. It will pass.
