Spectra is the first yield tokenization protocol on the Stellar network. It can support a wide range of assets issued on Stellar, from the popular ones to the expanding RWA sector.
βRWAs are a big part of Stellar's direction, with the DTCC connecting its tokenization service to the network next year. Fixed-term markets fit that direction. Great to see Spectra positioned for this,β β Gaspard Peduzzi, Co-founder of Spectra, said.
The deployment brings fixed-income markets to Stellar assets, traded through an order book. Yield that already accrues on the network becomes tradable at a rate its holder sets.

𧬠Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats
Many discoveries that have revolutionized biology and medicine started with a scientist noticing something odd in the staggering diversity of molecular machines found in nature. CRISPR was first noticed as an unusual repeat sequence in the DNA of certain bacteria, and is now the foundation of gene editing-based medicines.
Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzymeβs gene sits a long array of repeating DNA β a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR.
The system that Claude found is based on a reverse transcriptase (RT), enzymes that copy RNA into DNA. While this underlying RT, found in a jumbo phage, had been identified in previous studies, Claude appears to be the first to notice the systemβs defining features β an associated array of non-coding DNA sequences and an additional accessory protein of unknown function.

βThis is an exciting example of how AI agents can contribute to biological discovery. The identification of RNA-repeat arrays associated with reverse transcriptases is genuinely intriguing and merits further investigation.
I hope this work encourages more scientists to explore how AI can support their research,β β Feng Zhang, one of the pioneers of CRISPR genome editing and a professor at MIT and the Broad Institute said.

The Trump administration is considering an initiative to promote the use of dollar-denominated stablecoins overseas in a bid to reinforce the greenbackβs status as the worldβs reserve asset.
Stablecoin projects are among the areas the US government is considering supporting by creating joint ventures with private sector firms, with the aim of maintaining the US dollarβs currency preeminence and boosting demand for US Treasuries.
Stablecoin issuers typically hold reserves backing their tokens in cash and short-term government debt. The effort could stretch across multiple federal agencies, including the Treasury Department and the State Department. The US International Development Finance Corp. could also be involved.

Clients of IBM Digital Asset Haven, its platform for managing and securing digital assets, can now connect to permissioned blockchain networks, including Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger, IBM said Thursday.
IBM said financial institutions participating in Swift's program have already tested tokenized deposits on the ledger using Digital Asset Haven. The ledger supports bank-issued tokenized deposits and is built to allow participating IBM clients to move digital assets 24/7, with final settlement taking place through existing systems.
The messaging adapter lets banks build on existing payment message formats and operational processes rather than blockchain-specific workflows.

The White House has asked OpenAI and Anthropic to hold back their newest AI models from UK government testers until the U.S. gets first access. Anthropic appears to have complied, limiting Claude Mythos 5.1 to U.S. organizations and putting the UKβs early access to cutting-edge models under pressure.

The U.K.'s largest banks executed the worldβs first customer transaction using tokenized British pound deposits on a share platform. The money movement included remortgage payments and a test of a consumer purchase.
The project is testing whether regulated bank money can move in tokenized form between institutions and in retail payments. Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest and Santander took part in the Great British Tokenized Deposit initiative. The platform was built by Quant, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) service provider.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revealed an AI agent hacked into an Australian Medicare data portal earlier this year. The AI agent accessed both public and non-public files.
The agent was conducting research into public medical spending when it found a way to break through privacy protections. Albanese said it took 3 months for OpenAI to admit the breach, which he said was unacceptable.
"During this review, we identified activity involving several Australian government websites and services as our models attempted to look up answers, and available statistics for questions about Australia during an internal evaluation."
"In the course of that, our models took actions we did not intend. Our review found no evidence of patient records being accessed. The information accessed included aggregate health statistics and internal file names," β an OpenAI spokesperson said.
Albanese announced a taskforce would be set up to provide an "urgent and immediate review" of the incident. OpenAI's overall review was ongoing and it remained "committed to transparency".

Pods is now enabling Pix β Stellar, connecting Brazilβs instant payment rails directly to one of the worldβs leading blockchain networks. This integration makes it easier for wallets, fintechs, and neobanks to move users from BRL into onchain financial products with a seamless experience.
Local rails. Global infrastructure. One integration. Another step toward making onchain finance invisible to the end user.

The U.S. CFTC is continuing to hang the welcome sign for crypto and blockchain activity in the derivatives space, advising regulated firms that tokenized assets can be treated the same as the things being tokenized and blockchains are sufficient for recordkeeping.
The regulator said the firms need to ensure that "the tokenized form of the asset grants the holder legal and economic rights that are the same or functionally equivalent to the rights received by holders of the asset in its traditional form" and that the assets are properly held.

πΉ The US Congress has set its sights on Flock Safety, a vehicle surveillance system
Senators called for tighter rules and privacy safeguards around AI-powered license plate readers, as they raised concerns about the potential consequences of errors and unrestricted access to vehicle-location data. The demands emerged Wednesday during a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism hearing focused on Flock Safety, whose network has grown to more than 120,000 cameras across 49 states.
Flock says its connected network allows law-enforcement agencies to share vehicle evidence across jurisdictions, with searches subject to audit controls. But senators and witnesses said the growing scale of the network raises new questions about privacy and Fourth Amendment protections.

The plaintiffs claim OpenAI presented ChatGPT as a private, one-to-one exchange while failing to adequately disclose that human reviewers could access usersβ prompts and other content.
The plaintiffs allege the practice is particularly concerning because consumers use ChatGPT to discuss highly sensitive subjects, including health, mental health, relationships, finances, employment and legal issues.
