βš‘οΈπŸ’° Visa is expanding data offering for blockchain lenders as demand for stablecoin-linked cards surges

Visa will pair its settlement data with onchain lending infrastructure, giving lenders greater insight into the financial performance of digital asset-focused fintech firms and card issuers. The program aims to speed up borrowing for these businesses as they grow rapidly.

❗️Visa currently operates more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs for issuers and program managers, a nearly 200% increase year over year as more crypto businesses launch cards for customers.

β€œStablecoin-linked cards are in hypergrowth mode,” β€” Cuy Sheffield, head of crypto at Visa.

πŸ”œ He said there are new issuers, including stablecoin neobanks and fintech firms, joining the network and launching cards every week.

πŸ”œ To meet the demand surge and need for capital, the company is establishing partnerships to allow new issuers access to financing programs through smart contracts and onchain credit.

β€œWe’ve been running a pilot with a company called Credit Coop that is enabling a credit facility for stablecoin-linked card providers, which we think is a positive step forward for how onchain credit can start to come into our network,” β€” Sheffield said.

πŸ”₯ Circle Expands Global Payments Infrastructure with Agreement to Acquire Singapore-based Cross-Border Payments Platform, Tazapay

Circle has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-headquartered B2B cross-border payments infrastructure company focused on serving payment service providers and financial institutions.

❗️The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

"Stablecoin settlement is becoming core infrastructure in the global economy and combining USDC with Tazapay’s world-class banking relationships, local payout rails, and institutional customer base will accelerate worldwide USDC adoption,” β€” said Jeremy Allaire, Co-Founder, CEO, and Chairman at Circle.

The acquisition will accelerate Circle's mission to build the infrastructure layer for global digital finance. Tazapay brings over $25 billion of annualized payment volume, 60+ banking and fintech partners, local payout rails covering over 100 markets, adding scale to Circle’s payments infrastructure.

Approximately 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume already includes stablecoins. πŸš€

⚑️🧬 AlphaGenome Atlas: A predictive map of every possible DNA letter change in the human genome

Google DeepMind is introducing AlphaGenome Atlas: a platform containing predictions for the effects of 9 billion single-nucleotide variants β€” every single-letter change possible β€” in the human genome. It is the most comprehensive catalogue of how genetic mutations affect molecular biology, and it is available for academic research through an intuitive and free-to-use website portal.

DNA is the language of life. Mastering it is a grand challenge that could transform our ability to understand biology and treat disease. But progress has been limited by a fundamental problem: interpreting how genetic variations impact biology at a molecular level. With roughly 9 billion possible single-letter mutations in the human genome, testing each one in the lab is practically impossible.

Google DeepMind has already made progress on this challenge with AlphaGenome, an AI model that can predict how genetic variants impact biological processes. AlphaGenome is helpful for analyzing specific variants and has found widespread use in research.

πŸ€‘ Pyth Pro and Pyth Indices Bring 24/7 Pricing to Stellar’s $4B RWA Ecosystem

Stellar now hosts more than $4 billion in tokenized RWAs. Those assets move on infrastructure that stays online around the clock. The markets they represent often do not.

❗️That creates a specific pricing problem. A tokenized asset can remain transferable onchain while the underlying cash market is closed. Applications still need a price to value collateral, manage risk, account for vaults, and support trading.

⚑️Pyth Pro and Pyth Indices are now live on Stellar:

πŸ”˜Pyth Indices extend pricing beyond the sessions of the underlying market, while Pyth Pro gives builders access to low-latency market data across asset classes.

πŸ”˜Pyth Indices are constructed products that provide 24/7 pricing for assets whose underlying markets follow exchange hours. The catalog includes indices for Brent, natural gas, copper, and oil, alongside single-name equity indices for AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, MSTR, GOOGL, MSFT, MU, and SPCX.

On Stellar, a perpetuals market or vault can continue marking equity-linked and commodity exposure through weekends and holidays, when the cash market is closed. Collateral values, risk controls, and portfolio accounting can continue updating instead of waiting for the next session open. πŸš€

βš‘οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Trump Plans to Cut Canadian Products Out of Government Contracts

President Donald Trump said he would direct the General Services Administration and USTR to remove Canadian-origin products from federal government contracts, hitting back at Ottawa over retaliatory tariffs and escalating the trade war between the two neighbors.

The moves will take place β€œunless Canada restores full and fair reciprocity for American Farmers and Companies,” Trump announced. Trump said the so-called Multiple Award Schedules are worth more than $50 billion each year.

πŸ€– OpenAI Says It Has Solved a Millennium Prize Problem β€” a Holy Grail of Math

OpenAI said that one of its internal models has solved the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem, a fundamental question about the rules that describe how liquids and gases move.

For nearly a century, mathematicians have tried to determine whether smooth solutions to the equations describing three-dimensional fluid motion always remain smooth or if they ever break down.

To put it less mathematically: On paper, can water blow up?
πŸ€”

πŸ“ OpenAI says its model found a scenario in which β€œan initially smooth fluid at rest can develop a singularity in a finite time.” In the proof, a spaghetti-like vortex gets smaller while spinning faster and faster, its speed growing without limit in what mathematicians call β€œfinite-time blowup.”

OpenAI published its findings along with the 165-page proof and a formalization that verifies the argument step by step. The company says it took as many as 10,000 AI agents working together on the problem about 88 hours to find the solution.

πŸ›‘ Ethereum makes quantum resistance a top priority with a 2029 deadline

The Ethereum Foundation has given itself until December 2029 to make Ethereum resistant to quantum computers across the parts of the network that process transactions, secure validators and store data.

πŸ”˜The Foundation’s Protocol cluster is planning for that 2030 threat horizon, but has locked in a 2029 completion target. That deadline stands at least until January 2027, when outside experts will reassess how fast quantum computing is actually moving.

πŸ”˜The upcoming HegotΓ‘ upgrade will not provide quantum resistance itself but is intended to keep five subsequent hard forks and related cryptographic changes on schedule.

Planned protections include new account and validator signature systems, a public-key registry and a fallback designed to keep Ethereum operating with reduced guarantees if quantum computers advance sooner than expected.
