🤑 USDT0 from Tether is now live on Stellar

The world’s most widely used stablecoin just found a new home. USDT0, the infrastructure that brings Tether’s USDT to every network, is now live on the Stellar network, marking a significant milestone for one of the longest-running blockchains built for real-world payments and cross-border finance.

🆕 Beyond another asset listing, it’s a structural upgrade to liquidity on Stellar.

⚡️Instant access to global USDT liquidity

Whether you are making cross-border payments, settling accounts, or powering an app on Stellar, USDT0 gives institutions and individuals the ability to move value onchain with immediate access to billions of dollars of liquidity. Built on LayerZero’s OFT interoperability standard, USDT0 maintains a single unified supply backed 1:1 by USDT.

From day one, Stellar participants tap into the same global liquidity pool shared across LayerZero-connected blockchain ecosystems — no isolated pools, no wrapped tokens, no third-party tooling required. See it in action: move USDT0 to and from any supported chain in a few clicks.

💪 Better liquidity, stronger DeFi

With USDT0 now available on Stellar, DeFi protocols can build around an asset with more than $180 billion in market capitalization. USDT0 can be used as collateral, borrowed against, traded, and put to work across yield opportunities.

That creates more ways for existing USDT holders to put their capital to work on Stellar, expanding the potential pool of participants and capital to include markets where USDT is already a primary settlement asset. USDT0 on Stellar is available on SushiSwap with more DeFi integrations to come.

⚔️ Competing where it counts

USDT has a global footprint, and is used widely in emergent, fast-growth markets across Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific — the very regions where Stellar has spent years building payments infrastructure.

With USDT0 now on Stellar, users in these regions can now move the stablecoin they already trust on infrastructure purpose-built for it sub-cent fees, five-second transaction finality, and on/off-ramp coverage across 170+ countries. This combination of asset and network is a natural fit for the way people in emerging markets actually use stablecoins. 💸

❗️A signal to the market

USDT0’s arrival on Stellar sends a clear message to the broader ecosystem. Institutions, fintechs, and developers evaluating which networks to build on now have another compelling reason to choose Stellar: access to the most liquid stablecoin in the world, on a network with a decade of proven reliability in global payments.

The infrastructure is ready. The liquidity is live. The next chapter for Stellar starts now. 🚀

📱 X shifts US creator payouts from Stripe to X Money

Elon Musk’s social network X said that starting today, all of its U.S. creator payouts will be handled through X Money, the app’s payments service. This includes payouts from both X’s Original Content Rewards Program and creators’ subscriptions.

The benefit of this new payment system is that the payments are instant. There’s no waiting until the end of a billing cycle or a minimum threshold that has to be reached before the creator can access their money. Previously, payments were processed every two weeks, with a minimum payout of $30.

🤑 BIS Builds and Tests System Anchoring Government Banking Data on the XRP Ledger

❗️September 2026 report confirms that the BIS is leveraging XRP for a new on-chain verification pilot. XRP was mentioned 101 times in the BIS paper.

📝 The BIS built and tested a new verification system. It anchors official economic and banking statistics on the XRP Ledger. Working paper 1374 documents the design, the code, and the test results.

🧱 What the BIS Built

The system gives statistical agencies a way to prove published data is genuine. Each release receives a cryptographic fingerprint, and the XRP Ledger stores that fingerprint permanently. Anyone can then check a downloaded file against the ledger record. Importantly, the underlying data never touches the chain. Only the fingerprint does, so confidentiality holds throughout.

The BIS built this around SDMX, the standard it uses to exchange official statistics. The ECB, IMF, OECD, World Bank, and ILO rely on SDMX as well. However, SDMX offers no native way to prove where a file originated. The BIS closed that gap by making the XRP Ledger a public notary. As the paper puts it, no single institution can then edit the record silently.

❗️Even so, the XRP Ledger is the chain they built on, tested on, and shipped code for. That code now sits in public under an Apache 2.0 licence through BIS Open Tech.

The paper also points to XRPL’s EVM-compatible sidechain as a natural next step. That route would let data anchoring and smart contract execution share one ledger.

🚀 What This Opens Up for XRPL

The authors look past statistics publishing toward tokenized markets. They argue the payoff grows when verified data sits on the same ledger as digital assets. Inflation-linked products, perpetual futures, and derivative settlement all appear as candidates.

🔜 A contract could confirm an inflation print is authentic before releasing a payment. Additionally, the paper proposes Chainlink integration to carry verified statistics onto other chains.

🔜 AI agents receive similar treatment. The authors want standard verification protocols for autonomous systems reading official data. They also flag zero-knowledge proofs for checking statistical properties without revealing the figures.

⚡️ Where the Prototype Stops

The BIS frames this as a proof of concept rather than a live service. Production use would require HSM-backed signing, pinned validator nodes, and formal load testing. The ledger also certifies only what was published, by whom, and when. Publishers stay responsible for whether the numbers themselves are correct.

→ AI for standards and standards for AI;
→ and industrial innovation and investment in supply chains.

🤝 Ministers also reached consensus on the Carolina Principles for Emerging Technologies, which call on countries to invest in foundational research, strengthen commercialization pathways, and enable trusted technology adoption and deployment.

“Achieving consensus in the G20 is no small feat, but the topic of innovation as a driver of growth brought us together for a historic moment of unity,” — said Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.

“The statement released by the G20 members ministers today gives entrepreneurs the confidence to invest in their ideas, promotes domestic manufacturing, and ensures intellectual property frameworks foster and protect innovation.🚀

“In Chapel Hill, G20 countries realized an optimistic vision for the future of emerging technologies, recognizing that flexible policy frameworks crafted to promote innovation will drive economic growth and prosperity. That is the spirit of the Carolina Principles, and that is how we will expand opportunity for Americans and people around the world,” — said OSTP Director Michael Kratsios.

🇺🇸 NYC school system to ban AI for elementary, middle school students

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Schools Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels announced  a moratorium on student-facing generative AI use in schools, alongside a new screen time policy, a decision that will impact nearly 600,000 public school students, or two-thirds of the system’s total enrollment.

The policy establishes a one-year moratorium, effective in the 2026-2027 school year, on student-facing generative AI for children in 2-K through 8th  grade. It also introduces twice-yearly AI critical thinking modules for high schoolers, limited AI pilots for a small number of high school classrooms and age-appropriate screen time restrictions.

🏫 Most states favor responsible AI guidance over strict classroom restrictions, while New York City is taking a bolder approach as students return to school.

🤖 Researchers build a smartphone clip-on that spots hidden cameras

A technology has been developed to detect illegal hidden cameras in places like hotels and restrooms by simply attaching a light-emitting diode, LED device to a smartphone. Unlike conventional methods of visually identifying lenses, AI analyzes light reflection patterns to detect camera lenses.

In experiments on 30 objects commonly found in living spaces — such as chargers, alarm clocks, remote controls, and decorations — the technology achieved a 94% accuracy rate in detecting hidden cameras, with each inspection taking less than 5 seconds. 🤯

Illegal hidden cameras seriously threaten personal safety and privacy in everyday spaces,” — Professor Han Jun from KAIST stated. “By combining low-cost hardware with AI analysis, we have demonstrated the potential for a detection technology that even non-experts can use easily.”

🤖 Tether launches open-source, offline AI translation models supporting 28 African and European languages

🔜 Tether AI Research announced the launch of new families of open-source AI translation models designed to run directly on smartphones, laptops, and other edge devices with a primary focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.

🔜 The release includes QVAC TranslatePsy-AfriSLM and QVAC TranslatePsy-AfriNano, supporting 19 and 8 African languages respectively, alongside QVAC TranslatePsy-EuroNano covering 9 European languages.

For hundreds of millions of people across Africa, one of the barriers to modern AI is language. The most powerful tools run in a few major languages and depend on the cloud, putting them out of reach for many. 🌍

Translation across 19 African languages can unlock the ability to deliver courses, educational content, scientific material, and AI-powered learning tools directly to children and adults in their own languages.

Healthcare will be one of the highest-impact applications.
Patients may speak different local languages, while connectivity can be unreliable in the communities that need information most.

Such systems would require appropriate safeguards and clear boundaries between health education and clinical care, but the potential impact is substantial. 👏
