SpaceX plans to construct a foundry in Bastrop, Texas, to cast critical natural gas turbine blades and vanes, cutting deployment time by up to 18 months amid global backlogs. This supports massive AI data centers like the Terafab chip fab in Grimes County, Texas, which will rely on on-site gas turbines and batteries for stable power.
While racing to scale solar to 100 gigawatts yearly with Tesla, Musk views gas as a key bridge, using SpaceX's rocket expertise to vertically integrate and bypass supply constraints.

The CFTC ordered a former White House teleprompter operator to pay more than $172,000 to settle charges that he used his advance access to President Trump's speeches to profit from "mention markets" on prediction marketplace Kalshi. The former employee, Gabriel Perez, was ordered to repay $107,539.02 in profits and pay an additional $65,000 civil fine. The order also bars him from trading on any CFTC-registered entity for three years.
Perez opened an account at Kalshi on Dec. 8, 2025, and traded between December 2025 and March 2026. Perez allegedly read Trump's prepared remarks roughly an hour before delivery and placed his trades on Kalshi mention markets, which attempt to predict specific words that public figures will use in addresses, based on the words in the text.

A quantum computer can have hundreds of qubits, but one drifting laser can still bring the whole machine to a halt. Keeping those lasers precisely tuned is one of the less glamorous, and surprisingly difficult parts of running a quantum computer. Now, researchers have shown that an AI agent can learn to diagnose and correct some of these failures on its own.
In a test involving a neutral-atom quantum-computing system operated by Massachusetts-based QuEra Computing, Anthropicโs Claude restored a laserโs lock in 695 of 700 trials, usually in less than six seconds. The result points to a different role for AI in quantum computing: not solving a quantum problem, but learning how to keep the hardware itself working.
โFor years, the hardest part of scaling quantum computers wasnโt the physics. It was the people driving at 2 am to fix a laser lock. We built a solution using the Model Hardware Standard to fix that,โ โ Sergio Cantu, VP of Quantum Systems at QuEra Computing, said.

โNguyen The Minh, Director of the Investment Banking Division at An Binh Securities Company, said licensed exchanges would give Vietnamese investors a more official, transparent and secure way to trade crypto assets. The new rules are also expected to curb fraudulent exchanges and encourage investors to choose trading platforms that comply with Vietnamese law.

President Donald Trump warned that a growing public backlash to data centers in the US poses an economic threat to communities that oppose new infrastructure needed to power AI and risks giving China the upper hand in the AI race.
โThe only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backwards and poor,โ โ Trump said. โIf they want to be successful and rich, with far lower taxes and jobs all over the place, let Data Reign.โ

The FDA approved Mimrylo (rusfertide), a new treatment for adults with polycythemia vera, a rare blood disorder that causes the body to make too many red blood cells. The excess cells can thicken the blood and increase the risk of cardiovascular issues, such as blood clots, stroke and heart attack.
Mimrylo offers a new treatment approach for patients whose disease has not been adequately controlled with existing therapies. It is the first approved treatment for polycythemia vera that mimics hepcidin, a hormone that naturally regulates iron in the body.
By limiting the iron available to make new red blood cells, Mimrylo helps reduce their overproduction and keep red blood cell levels under control. This novel approach offers a new option for patients who have not achieved adequate control with existing therapies.

Singapore has earmarked S$220 million ($173 million) over three years to fund financial technology and innovation, as it seeks to stay competitive with other rival hubs including Hong Kong that are also investing in this area.
The new program aims to support talent as well as accelerate the development, adoption and deployment of financial technologies with a focus on frontier ones, among its goals, the Monetary Authority of Singapore said. Under the program, the MAS plans to back at least 1,000 internships, as well as ensure its financial sector is ready for so-called frontier technologies such as AI.

Sberbank, Russia's largest lender, said the country's regulated crypto trading volume on exchanges may reach 4 trillion rubles ($46.4 billion) in the first year after crypto laws take effect on Sept. 1.
Anatoly Popov, Sberbank's deputy chairman, said that such crypto trading volume could grow to roughly 7.5 trillion rubles ($87.1 billion) by 2029.
"We prepared for this in advance, and we already have practical experience working with cryptocurrency. As soon as the law comes into full force, we will adapt Sberโs existing products to the new requirements and begin consistently expanding their lineup," โ said Popov.
"We will be able to expand the list immediately after all provisions of the new regulation come into force."๐
The bank reportedly plans to launch a crypto wallet in its Sber and Sber Investments apps alongside a digital asset depository by early December.
