Xbox has unveiled its long-rumored new disc-to-digital service, which will let players who own physical copies of games claim digital entitlements, playing them as if they own digital copies. In an announcement, Microsoft confirmed support will include digital benefits such as Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
"Players have spent decades building their XBOX libraries. Some games were purchased on disc. Some were purchased digitally. Many span multiple generations of hardware," — the company said. "Our goal is to make it easier for those libraries to move forward with players."
Xbox Insiders can test the feature from August 31.

The companies said they will combine Dunamu's digital asset technology with Visa's global payments network to explore new services in stablecoin-based payments, cross-border remittances, and AI-driven finance.
On the AI side, Dunamu and Visa will jointly explore agentic commerce as a focus area, in which an AI agent searches for goods or services and completes purchase and payments on a user's behalf.

Ripple has begun an intensive, AI-only security review of Lending Protocol V1.1 for the XRP Ledger. The review is being conducted through the Sherlock Audit Engine. The Audit Engine combines leading AI auditors and frontier models equipped with specialized security skills. The system adapts the review process to the scope, complexity, and depth required by the protocol under examination.
Sherlock stated that Ripple is among the teams putting AI-only security review into practice, with attention directed toward rigor, coverage, and real-world results. The firm indicated that a full account of the review would be provided once the process is complete.
The Ripple review occurs amid broader activity involving AI systems in cryptocurrency platforms and protocols.

Game studio MiTale Ltd. is at Gamescom promoting a narrative-driven post-apocalyptic RPG dubbed C.L.A.Y. - The Last Redemption. C.L.A.Y. stands out for its use of quantum computing techniques in the creation of game assets as well as for game narrative and procedural systems.
MiTale worked with experts from IBM Quantum Computing and claims this is the “first commercial game on the market utilizing quantum computing in an immersive narrative experience.” Moreover, it reckons this is “the first step toward using real quantum hardware in games to accelerate complex tasks in a manner similar to a GPU,” which is rather bold.

X’s Global Government Affairs team identified a 200,000-strong bot farm operating on the platform, with 200 of them posting information designed to influence public perception. Tthe accounts are suspected to have been created by Chinese operators, and that they’re using the accounts to amplify the negative impacts of AI data centers, especially on electricity prices.
The concerns that many residents have about data center developments in their area are indeed valid and true, but so is the threat of foreign intervention in domestic American politics. The internet, social media, and AI have made this easier in recent years, though, so both platforms and people need to be more vigilant than ever.

From late 2017 to July 2021, Brent C. Kovar owned Profit Connect, a Las Vegas-based company that purportedly used AI software on a supercomputer to mine cryptocurrency and verify other cryptocurrency transactions. He falsely represented the company as a profitable company that paid investors a fixed rate of return of 15% to 30% APR and provided a 100% money-back guarantee.
Kovar also falsely represented that Profit Connect was backed by hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency reserves. Kovar knew his company was not profitable, had no reserves, did not and could not pay the fixed rates of return to investors, and had no legitimate means for the money-back guarantee.
He used investor money to operate Profit Connect, to buy gifts for employees, to buy a house for himself, and to repay investors as if those repayments came from mining cryptocurrency and verifying cryptocurrency transactions. In total, Kovar fraudulently obtained $24 million from at least 400 investors.
Following a nine-day trial, Kovar was found guilty of 11 counts of wire fraud; two counts of mail fraud; and two counts of money laundering. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 30, 2026, and he faces a statutory maximum penalty of 280 years in prison.🤯

People who speak more than one language may have brains that appear younger than expected for their age, according to research presented at the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) Forum 2026. The brain depends on billions of nerve cells constantly communicating with one another. As people get older, those connections can weaken, contributing to slower thinking and declines in memory.
The new findings suggest that multilingual experience may help offset some of those age-related changes. To measure brain aging, the researchers first studied 728 people and created a 'brain aging clock'. They used magnetoencephalography, a method that detects the faint magnetic fields produced when brain cells are active.
People who spoke two languages had brains that appeared about six years younger than those of people who spoke only one language. Those who spoke three languages had brains that appeared about seven years younger. Among people who spoke four languages, the difference grew to roughly 13 years.

Sony Music Publishing, Warner Chappell and numerous other music publishers have sued Anthropic and co-founders Dario Amodei and Benjamin Mann, alleging the AI lab conducted a “brazen campaign of illegally torrenting, scraping, and downloading copyrighted works.”
The lawsuit, which was filed late Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, was first reported by Music Business Worldwide. The publishers accuse Anthropic of “blatant theft” by using thousands of copyrighted works to train its AI model Claude.
“We disagree with the publishers’ claims and we intend to defend ourselves robustly in court,” an Anthropic spokesperson wrote.

Zano has launched Hard Fork 6, a major upgrade introducing Gateway Addresses for easier exchange integration and non-custodial bridging between Zano and transparent chains like Ethereum and Solana.
The centerpiece of Hard Fork 6 is the introduction of Gateway Addresses. This new account-based address type is designed specifically for infrastructure providers, including centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and bridges. Ripple Treasury intends to increase the utility of XRP by using it to facilitate enterprise payment volumes. Ripple Treasury has direct access to Blackrock’s BUIDL platform.
“We're working with a really wide group of traditional and new players on building access to high quality long-term investment products that can grow and thrive in digital wallets,” — states Blackrock’s Martin Small.
