The company said its Gemini Enterprise for Legal would help law firms use AI to manage routine and complex work to allow lawyers to focus on higher-value services, while keeping their data secure and confidential.
The new plug-in for Gemini Enterprise includes integration with legal software and data platforms and a stable of AI agents that Google said can handle specialized legal and administrative functions without significant human oversight. In addition to legal, Google said it was unveiling industry tools for the financial services sector and would later roll out other industry-specific offerings.

Europe’s leading fintech firm Revolut has unveiled its own euro-backed stablecoin, EURR, which will be built into the platform’s retail apps.
Revolut, whose app boasts over 80 million retail customers, said the stablecoin’s rollout will start with a select group of customers within Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The token shares its ticker with Stablr’s euro-backed stablecoin, which currently has a 6.4 million market capitalization.
EURR gives the still-small euro-stablecoin sector a potential distribution channel far beyond crypto-native platforms. Revolut says more than 16 million of its customers already use crypto, meaning wider integration of EURR could put a euro-denominated onchain asset in front of a mainstream audience through an app they already use for banking.
The stablecoin ecosystem is currently worth over $300 billion, though euro-pegged stablecoins represent less than $800 million of that, according to DeFiLlama data.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the Libre Duo 10 Day Continuous Dual Glucose Ketone Monitoring System for people aged 2 years and older living with diabetes.
“Today’s authorization is a breakthrough for the safety of children and adults living with diabetes,” — said Michelle Tarver, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
“Knowing that ketone levels are rising, and having that information in real time, around the clock, can be the difference between early intervention and a life-threatening emergency."
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 40.1 million Americans are living with diabetes, a condition that requires careful monitoring of blood sugar levels.

A proposal from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to change its rules governing how investment advisers hold digital assets was sent this week to the White House for review.
The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, a division of the Office of Management and Budget that reviews federal regulations before publication, is reviewing changes to the SEC’s custody rules. The SEC said it received questions from investment advisers about how they can hold crypto assets for clients while complying with its requirements.
"This rulemaking would clarify the framework for the custody of crypto assets for investment adviser and investment companies, as well as make other modernizations needed to remove burdens from certain outdated provisions that are no longer needed to provide investor protection given the evolution in the markets and security trading and holding practices," — the SEC said.

The real story, however, is hard to ignore. We've been building tokenized funds on Stellar for years, and the network's RWA numbers continue to drive conversations with retail and institutions alike.
Distributed RWA asset value on Stellar is now sitting at $3.5 billion, held by more than 19,000 holders, a sharp climb in a short window. There are 70 distinct RWA assets live on the network. The activity looks less like early adoption and more like a market that has found its footing.
The first wave of RWA tokenization was mostly Treasury products. A short-duration, dollar-denominated, asset that was easy to explain made sense for the start of the RWA wave. It proved the concept: traditional financial instruments can live onchain, settle in real time, and be accessed without legacy brokerage infrastructure.
But a single asset class is not a portfolio. A real portfolio, one with genuine diversification across equities, fixed income, alternatives, and cash, is what onchain investors have never had access to until recently.
That's what makes what's happening on Stellar right now worth paying attention to. Dozens of distinct RWA assets live on one network, spanning multiple asset classes, from multiple issuers, with transfer volume to match. This isn't a showcase of what tokenization could eventually look like.
It's what it looks like today, on a network that was built to handle exactly this kind of activity. The T-bill era proved tokenization could work. Stellar is proving it can be the foundation for something much bigger.
Today, WisdomTree has 15 SEC-registered tokenized funds live on Stellar, spanning money market, equity, fixed income, and alternatives, alongside a Gold token, BTC, and ETH. That's the diversified portfolio the earlier T-bill wave couldn't offer, live and tradable today.

The Justice Department and FBI announced court-authorized domain seizures today to deny malicious cyber actors access to two complementary hacking platforms known as “QScan” and “QTRouter,” used to target U.S. critical infrastructure and other sensitive networks.
The department said that the seized internet domains were hard-coded into both the QScan and QTRouter malware. The seizures made the QScan and QTRouter inoperable, according to the DOJ.
“State-sponsored malicious hackers preying on America’s critical infrastructure will be stopped and prosecuted. We are here to ensure security for the American people and will use every tool we have to keep that promise,” — Attorney General Todd Blanche said.

Ethereum researchers proposed rebuilding the network’s validator deposit contract to support new cryptographic systems and eventually stop accepting deposits secured by existing BLS signatures. The change is intended to protect the blockchain from quantum attacks that could forge validator signatures, potentially threatening about 42.4 million staked ETH worth roughly $104 billion.
The proposal remains an early draft and requires additional protocol changes, with the Ethereum Foundation targeting around 2029 for core quantum-resistant upgrades.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an emergency order that aims to keep some foreign-made transformers and other critical energy equipment out of the nation’s electric grids on national security grounds.
The directive comes amid mounting bipartisan concern that Chinese-manufactured components in the US power system could contain vulnerabilities foreign adversaries can exploit. It also follows a series of cyberattacks on US water facilities that have underscored the extent to which the country’s critical infrastructure can be a target.

Meta Platforms will pay up to $18 billion over the next decade and strictly limit how teenagers use Facebook and Instagram, under an agreement with nearly all U.S. states to resolve claims it designed those social media platforms to addict children. The settlements end a federal trial over allegations Meta's products harmed children and the company misled the public about their safety.
“The focus of this case was to protect our kids," — Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said. "The relief we are getting in this settlement is very meaningful and well beyond what any court has ordered or is likely to order."
It could provide a template for resolving thousands of other lawsuits against social media companies.

Users hold a private balance in a shared shielded pool and pay each other inside it. The public ledger records that the pool was used, while keeping who paid whom or how much private. As Nethermind highlights in their writeup; privacy and compliance are not opposing requirements and SPP is designed to enforce both, on public rails.
Stellar's Developer Previews put new developer tooling and protocol capabilities in developers' hands before they're production-ready. While they're not yet approved for mainnet, the Stellar Private Payments contract is live on testnet.

The UK government will give the Bank of England a new responsibility to bolster innovation in digital currencies and payments, amid criticism that the central bank has been too conservative in its approach to the emerging technologies.
The Treasury said that the goal would be secondary to the BoE’s primary mission of maintaining financial stability. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has put a priority on ensuring that London remains competitive in a rapidly evolving digital asset market.

“AI will either be the greatest equalizer ever invented, or the worst source of injustice,” — he said.
Bill Gates warned that AI could prove “the worst source of injustice,” displacing workers across white- and blue-collar industries. But he added that technology could accelerate advances in clean energy, agriculture, health (such as breakthroughs in preventing and treating diseases) and combat other major global challenges.
Right now, if you’re an employer and you hire someone, you pay payroll taxes on their earnings. But if you buy a robot, you can usually write it off right away as a business expense. The tax system nudges you toward replacing people with machines.
A tax would slow the rush away from human labor a little and raise money for retraining and a stronger safety net.
We might set something aside as Human Reserved for economic reasons. For example, we may do it because allowing machines to take over a certain role will displace a large number of people who can’t easily change jobs. You can’t tell a 55-year-old who has worked in construction their whole career that they need to go work at an elder care facility and expect them to find it fulfilling.
Sometimes the decision to make something Human Reserved will be driven by other factors. In health, for example, imagine a robot giving you the awful news that you have an incurable disease. There’s no technical reason why it couldn’t. Yet it shouldn’t.
The Human Reserved domain will evolve over time — for example, we should consider setting aside some jobs now and phasing in AI slowly over years or decades with a commitment to preserve some jobs.
“The challenge is monumental. Even under the best circumstances, the transition to this new AI era will be one of the most turbulent times in human history,” — Gates said.
"The whole world would go along with that," — said Gates, who met with Xi three years ago.
