Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 left the sandbox it was being tested in and went onto the open internet to find answers to problems it had been set.
The model was being assessed on defensive cybersecurity skills and was expressly tasked with solving problems without looking them up. It did not attempt the task at all. Instead it probed the network, established that DNS resolution for github.com was working, cloned the official benchmark repository and read the solution off the disk.
"We found a leak in the sandbox," โ CEO Yaron Singer said. "But we also found that Kimi took advantage of that loophole."

The US Senate passed a sweeping new Russia sanctions bill authorizing punishing tariffs of up to 100% on imports from China, India and other top buyers of the countryโs oil and gas as well as extended Iran sanctions.
The legislation, which had been championed by the late Senator Lindsey Graham, received bipartisan support, ultimately passing on an 86 to 11 vote. The bill now heads to the House, which returns after the August recess.

Senate Majority Leader filed the motion to proceed on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act early Saturday, after a marathon overnight Senate voting session.
"We, the undersigned senators โฆ hereby move to bring to a close debate on the motion to proceed to calendar number 423, [House Resolution] 3633, an act to provide for a system of regulation of the offer and sale of digital commodities by the SEC and the CFTC, and so forth and for other purposes," โ the clerk said reading the filing.
While the motion came too late for the Senate to vote on the crypto market structure bill before the body breaks for its August recess, the move sets the bill up for an initial vote almost immediately after the Senate returns next month.

BTQ Technologies Corp.
