Meta Platforms Inc. debuted a new image-generation AI model, its first such release since the company spent billions to rebuild its AI lab under Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang a year ago.
The model, called Muse Image, is rolling out Tuesday inside the Meta AI chatbot. It will also be embedded in Instagram and WhatsApp. People can use it to generate images based on text prompts or by asking it to alter existing pictures. Advertisers, too, will soon have access to the model to create marketing materials.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is laying the groundwork for cryptocurrency rulemaking before the end of the year, with a blueprint to modify its rules for exchanges and broker dealers.
"The proposed rules may provide greater certainty to the market, facilitate capital formation, and accommodate innovation within the crypto asset markets while, at the same time, ensuring that investors are adequately protected and provided with the information they need to make informed investment decisions," the agency said in the agenda.

Toyota announced that it plans to double the size of its manufacturing campus in San Antonio by 2030, a $3.6 billion expansion that the Japanese auto company said could generate an estimated 2,000 additional jobs in the state.
The expansion will add a second vehicle assembly line to produce Toyotaโs Tacoma truck โ one of the companyโs top-sold models, according to a 2025 annual report. The company will transfer Tacoma production from its plant in Baja California, Mexico, to Toyota Texas over a four-year period.

Indonesia awarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi its highest civilian honour, the โBintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesiaโ, in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

China plans to allow top AI companies to buy a limited amount of H200 chips from Nvidia Corp., a sign the country is easing restrictions on the coveted US technology.

Meta Platforms Inc. will invest around $10 billion to build its first data center in Canada as the company expands its infrastructure to support its AI ambitions.
The Sturgeon County, Alberta-based data center will have one gigawatt of power capacity โ the equivalent of the power used by around 750,000 homes โ and will be largely run on natural gas-fired power. Meta said itโs funding the new electrical generation, which will be connected to Albertaโs grid.
