I-Pulse Inc. will receive $250 million in US funding for semiconductor and pulsed-power development as the venture co-founded by Robert Friedland joins American efforts to reduce reliance on foreign-chip supply chains.
The company, which has laboratories in New Mexico, was granted the award by the Department of Commerce’s CHIPS program to develop semiconductor components for a geothermal drilling technique that uses surges of high-power electricity, according to a company statement.

AllUnity and Zebec announced the launch of an EURAU-based employee benefits and enterprise payments program on the Stellar network. The pilot program aims to expand payroll and workforce payments in AllUnity's regulated euro stablecoin across its ecosystem, including its major enterprise clients and partners.
"Regulated stablecoins are increasingly moving from financial infrastructure to real world business applications," said Simon Babakhani, CEO of Zebec Network.
“This pilot brings together EURAU, the payment infrastructure of the Stellar network, and Zebec's payroll platform to support employee benefits, contractor payments, and workforce disbursements in an enterprise environment. With initiatives like global remittances, tokenized assets, and institutional market infrastructure, Stellar has become one of the most important networks for connecting stablecoins to real world financial activity," Simon Babakhani added.🚀
The Zebec payroll infrastructure is designed to scale, ready to support EURAU streaming across the AllUnity ecosystem, and includes a growing network of enterprise and institutional participants spanning financial services, fintech, and corporate sectors across Europe.

Elon Musk received a regulatory greenlight to acquire startup Mesh Optical Technologies, a company founded by former SpaceX engineers working on optical data center communication technology. Mesh is developing optical transceivers that rely on light to send and receive information between data centers, which the company says are more power efficient and lower latency than existing options.

Researchers at the University of Melbourne and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Australia have teamed up with the Japanese National Institute for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) to develop advanced manufacturing methods to convert low-value diamond dust into high-performance materials for quantum technologies.
Teaming with QST, Japan, allows Australian researchers to access capabilities and test new fabrication approaches, while ensuring technological sovereignty when the quantum era dawns. If the approach can be scaled, it will help Australia turn its diamond dust into high-performance quantum materials for a futuristic tomorrow.

⚡️🇺🇸 Trump administration partially lifts Anthropic’s AI export ban
The Trump administration on Friday partially rescinded its export ban on Anthropic’s most advanced AI model — de-escalating a confrontation that has caused confusion across the American AI industry.
The action paves the way for the company to restore access to its Mythos 5 models to a list of more than 100 “trusted partners” including companies and federal agencies approved by the government. But a second advanced Anthropic model, called Fable 5, remains blocked by an export ban that the administration had imposed June 12.

The Trump administration on Friday partially rescinded its export ban on Anthropic’s most advanced AI model — de-escalating a confrontation that has caused confusion across the American AI industry.
“In just two weeks, we have worked diligently to ensure America remains the global leader in AI while safeguarding our security,” said Benno Kass, a Commerce Department spokesperson.

Researchers at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (UChicago PME) have created a skin-like computing patch that can process health data using AI directly on the body. Unlike conventional wearable devices, the patch performs AI calculations in milliseconds without needing to send information over a wireless connection, enabling near-instant medical insights and highly accurate heart monitoring.
“It’s helping people have a personal, instantaneous doctor integrated into their devices,” said Sihong Wang, an associate professor of molecular engineering at UChicago PME. “Instead of sending data away to a remote server, we can begin making sense of it right where life is happening."
A neural network encoded within the array analyzed vital signs and personal health information, including cholesterol levels, blood sugar, maximum heart rate, and ECG measurements, to estimate heart attack risk. The system achieved an accuracy rate of 83.5%. The new study was published in Nature Electronics.

The DTCC just confirmed its tokenization service soft launch will occur via a ONE-DAY event for test cases on July 15th, operating across TWO blockchains with traditional assets to showcase interoperability.
This is not a pilot test but a full scale implementation of all the post trade inventory, roughly $150 trillion! There only a few blockchains participating so it likely means many trillions of dollars coming onto the Stellar Blockchain and digitized assets. XLM is expected to become part of this by mid-2027.

🔋This Sodium Battery From China Matched Tesla in a Surprising Head-to-Head Test
A commercially available sodium-ion battery from Hina, already used in cars and large-scale energy storage systems in China, has achieved manufacturing quality and performance levels comparable to Tesla’s lithium-ion batteries, according to research published in the Cell Press journal Cell Reports Physical Science.
Sodium offers several potential advantages over lithium because it is far more abundant and easier to source worldwide. The study also found that sodium-ion batteries maintain strong performance under heavy loads in cold conditions, making them promising candidates for stationary energy storage as well as vehicles operating in colder climates.

For NASA’s next generation of deep space exploration missions, spacecraft may need to refuel in Earth orbit before pushing farther into the solar system. Engineers from NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and L3Harris con-duct operational testing on a developmental cryocoupler, a vital technology for future in-orbit spacecraft refueling.
Cryocouplers would allow spacecraft to connect to future orbital propellant depots, which would serve as the gas stations of space. The technology comes with the challenge of reliably transferring cryogenic, or super-cold, fluids without losing propellant or performance.
“These propellant transfers are essential for the kinds of missions NASA wants to fly in the future, so developing a coupler that can handle ultra-cold propellants is a critical step toward making that capability real,” said Travis Belcher, cryocoupler project manager at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

IBM joined OpenAI’s Daybreak Cyber Partner Program to launch a security solution that uses advanced AI models to detect code vulnerabilities and help companies fix them before they become problems.
The application security service builds on Project Lightwell, an initiative IBM launched last month to secure open source software used across enterprise supply chains. IBM and Red Hat have committed $5 billion to fund the project, which deploys engineers and AI tools to patch, validate, and manage open source code.
OpenAI’s models will work alongside other AI systems within Project Lightwell for code review and remediation tasks. IBM has described the initiative as an enterprise security clearinghouse staffed by a global engineering team.
