The malware dubbed a “crypto clipper,” has been spreading via infected USB drives to target Windows users’ crypto wallets since February, according to Microsoft.
Microsoft recommends disabling AutoRun for removable media, blocking .lnk file execution on USB drives via group policy and restricting script hosts such as wscript.exe and cscript.exe. Microsoft Defender customers can also run hunting queries to check for related activity, including connections to a local Tor proxy on port 9050.

Archax, the UK/EU regulated digital asset platform, announced the launch of $GOVY, a tokenised, perpetual US Treasury Bill (T-Bill) product, designed to align with high-quality liquid assets (HQLA) principles. $GOVY gives investors direct, legally-enforceable exposure to auto-rolling, short-dated US government securities with embedded on-chain settlement, custody and delivery rights - and with no active management required by the investor.
“$GOVY brings together the safety and familiarity of US T-Bills with the operational advantages of tokenisation,” said Graham Rodford, CEO and co-founder of Archax. “Professional and institutional investors can now access government yield in a structure that is fully regulated, legally robust and operationally simple - without the friction of traditional settlement cycles, SPVs or fund wrappers.”
Investors can subscribe through an Archax brokerage account, or from whitelisted wallets using eligible stablecoins. Archax purchases and tokenises the corresponding T-Bills, which are held 1:1 in regulated custody. As each T-Bill matures, it is automatically replaced within the $GOVY token by the next equivalent short-dated instrument, providing perpetual, continuously rolling exposure. Investors can redeem $GOVY for stablecoins or take delivery of the underlying T-Bill at any time. Importantly, investors retain legal ownership of their specific underlying T-Bills throughout.
The launch of GOVY tokens marks another milestone in Archax’s mission to build regulated infrastructure for the tokenisation, custody, trading and distribution of both cryptoassets and real-world assets.

Senator Bill Hagerty is discussing the CLARITY Act, and this video is fueling fresh bullish sentiment around XRP and XLM. The reason is that Hagerty sits on the Senate Banking Committee.
He said the CLARITY Act is taking the crypto space toward “the type of certainty that’s necessary to bring the entire digital asset framework into full-blown opportunity here in America.” He drew a direct line to his own legislative track record, noting that the GENIUS Act, which he authored, brought the U.S. into the digital payments arena.
He said digital assets “have a much more varied use” and added, “We need to get this done. It’s important to get it done. It’s critical to maintain America’s innovation edge.”❗️
On timing, Hagerty said the bill will likely garner more attention after the July recess period, and he hopes to see it concluded before the end of July.

A team of researchers from China and Japan has developed a ultra-flexible brain implant electrode array. It overcomes a major hurdle in brain-computer interfaces (BCIs): the physical mismatch between stiff metal electrodes and soft brain tissue, which typically leads to chronic inflammation and signal degradation.
Researchers tested the flexible brain implant in animal trials. Interestingly, it achieved long-term signal clarity and safe, stable functionality over an 18-month period.
BCIs are advancing rapidly, but their long-term survival inside the body has always been the weak point. Invasive brain implants should ideally last a lifetime rather than just a few years. This new class of organic hydrogel could eventually solve the gap between machine and mind, offering a durable solution for the long term.

Norway is imposing a near ban on the use of generative AI tools by elementary school pupils while also restricting their use in the education of older children to prevent a negative impact on learning, the country's prime minister said.
“Using AI increases the risk that young children skip important steps in their education,” — Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said.
In 2024, Norway banned smartphones from classrooms, requiring students to lock their devices up during school hours. According to a study published by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, bullying decreased across the board, and grade point averages started to climb once the device restriction was implemented. The nation followed that up with a planned social media ban earlier this year, which would keep anyone under the age of 16 off social platforms.

At Unreal Fest, the company unveiled a roadmap for the next 12 months, promising significant upgrades in the form of Epic Games Launcher V2. The v2 launcher will supposedly open up 5x faster on average upon cold boots, while restoring it from the system tray will be 6.5x faster on average.
The biggest change is a redesigned storefront that's truly personalized to the individual user. Games will be recommended based on taste and playstyle, while the game pages will try to do more than just show the price, title, and cover.

Engineers at The University of Texas at Austin have successfully developed a wearable jacket capable of harvesting clean drinking water directly from the air. This innovative technology aims to provide a portable, on-demand water source for individuals operating in areas lacking infrastructure, such as hikers, campers, agricultural workers, and emergency responders.
The jacket features a textile that collects moisture and directs it to detachable units. These units are placed in a foldable collector and heated to release the water. The jacket produced between 400 and 900 milliliters of water per day, depending on humidity levels.
The researchers are investigating further applications for the material, such as integration into backpacks, tents, and emergency shelters. The University of Texas at Austin has filed a patent application for the technology to facilitate its use in fields such as remote operations and disaster response.

Brazil’s Integration and Regional Development Ministry and federal police are investigating an intrusion into the civil defense alert system that sent messages containing the word “misanthropy” to the mobile phones of millions of Brazilians.
The message was sent as an “Extreme Alert” — used to warn the public about extreme weather — in what was likely the result of a hacker attack, according to the ministry. National Secretary of Protection and Civil Defense Wolnei Wolff told a press conference that 10 alerts were tracked in various Brazilian states. The number of phones affected nationwide wasn’t disclosed.
