Life Biosciences, a Boston-based longevity company, just started the first FDA-approved human clinical trial to turn back time on old cells. The trial is arguably the biggest tangible step yet for the longevity industry, which has historically failed to deliver on many of its life-extending promises.

Scientists injected their ER-100 drug into the eye of a patient suffering from glaucoma, attempting to rejuvenate cells in the optic nerve and restore sight. This trial is still in its beginning stages. Life Biosciences is hoping to use this technology, known as cellular reprogramming, on other organs like the liver (and maybe someday the brain).

Wall Street giant Citigroup is launching tokenized shares of private companies, which would enable its institutional clients to trade shares of companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Ripple. This comes amid the SpaceX IPO buzz, with investors seeking exposure to the largest private companies before they go public.

➡️ According to a WSJ report, the bank is establishing a way for its wealthy and institutional clients to trade shares of private companies on a blockchain. The bank is also hoping that other banks across Wall Street will adopt this venture.

❗️As part of the move to launch these tokenized shares, Citigroup is already discussing with some of the largest private companies.

This move comes amid a tokenization boom, with traditional financial (TradFi) giants moving to bring traditional assets on-chain. Notably, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is already working on a 24/7 trading platform for tokenized securities.

How This Venture Will Work ❓

➡️ According to the report, Citigroup’s offering of tokenized shares of private companies will work through depositary receipts. These are securities that banks issue to represent shares in foreign companies. The bank will issue these receipts and act as their custodian.

🔵 Chinese cybercrime operation that used AI to scam ‘hundreds of thousands of victims’ sued by Google

On Friday, the tech giant announced a lawsuit against an alleged Chinese cybercrime network called Outsider Enterprise, which Google says uses AI in its campaigns to send scam text messages impersonating Google and other brands to steal passwords and credit card numbers.

Outsider Enterprise has financially scammed “hundreds of thousands of victims” with losses “estimated in the millions.” The group deployed 9,000 fake websites, one million fraudulent web domains, and 2.5 million texts sent to Android users in a two-week period, according to Google.

The company said, “55,000 spam texts were flagged by Android users in just two weeks this past May — that’s more than two text spam complaints a minute.”

Ripple is trying to put XRP and RLUSD into the market for AI-agent payments in an environment that is still mostly paying in the dollar-pegged USDC stablecoin.

❗️The company introduced the XRPL AI Starter Kit earlier this week, a set of developer tools for building AI agents that can send payments on the XRP Ledger.

This kit includes XRPL documentation access through an MCP server (which connects a service's AI tools to external data sources), Claude skills for wallet creation, balance checks and payments, and support for x402 payments using XRP and Ripple USD.

⤴️The pitch is that if AI agents are going to buy API access, pay for model inference, settle invoices or move value between services, they need payment rails that are cheap, fast and easy to trigger without a human clicking approve each time.

Ripple says XRPL can do that with three-to-five-second settlement, predictable fees, native payments, escrow, multisig and a built-in decentralized exchange. 🚀
