Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller the spread of stablecoins around the world could amplify the influence of US central-bank policy.
โCountries that adopt it, itโs like a fixed exchange rate system,โ โ Waller said Sunday at an event in Dubrovnik, Croatia. โYou are going to import US monetary costs, so itโs broadening the reach of US monetary policy in countries that use more stablecoins.โ

Massachusetts will invest up to $25 million in a new quantum research facility at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a move state officials say will strengthen the regionโs position in one of the worldโs most competitive emerging technologies.
Governor Maura Healey announced the funding commitment for MITโs planned Quantum Systems Laboratory (QSL), a facility expected to support advanced quantum computing and sensing research while creating hundreds of jobs and expanding training opportunities for future scientists and engineers.
One of the facilityโs goals is to advance the emerging field of quantum-enhanced sensing, which leverages quantum-mechanical effects to improve measurement precision. Such technologies could eventually find applications in navigation, medical imaging, environmental monitoring, and national security.

BYD has introduced its latest smart driving solution equipped with 'God's Eye 5.0' and a new autonomous driving framework. The company revealed several technical details, surprising the market with two key features: a 'safety net guarantee' for all models equipped with 'God's Eye 5.0' and the launch of its self-developed 'Xuanji A3' chip.
โThere are roughly 1.19 million people who die in traffic accidents globally every year, and tens of millions more are injured. Our first goal is to achieve zero traffic accidents,โ โ said founder and chairman Wang Chuanfu.
By integrating sensors, cameras, radar, and AI, the company aims to enhance a vehicleโs ability to detect hazards, respond to traffic conditions, and assist drivers in complex environments. The system allows drivers to go โhands offโ, with BYD pledging to cover any costs from traffic accidents when the technology is activated.

Retail traders are quickly rotating out of XRP and piling into Stellar, with South Korea emerging as the main hotspot for the latest wave of crypto momentum. The move has been strong enough to push XLM ahead of XRP in trading activity on Upbit, the countryโs largest exchange.
DTCCโs engagement with Stellar doesnโt necessarily sideline the XRP Ledger or XRP; it reinforces a more likely outcome, an emerging multi-chain financial system where different networks serve different roles rather than competing for dominance.
The long-term relationship between Ripple and Stellar may resemble a financial-services duopoly, similar to Visa and Mastercard, where two parallel systems coexist, each powering a different but complementary segment of global finance.

Brazilโs state-controlled oil giant Petroleo Brasileiro SA said it will reduce its average diesel selling price to distributors by 0.3515 reais per liter beginning June 1, lowering the price by 9.6% to 3.30 reais per liter. The reduction is tied to a federal subsidy program designed to offset the reinstatement of the PIS and Cofins fuel taxes.

US company Graphite One has announced it has seured a new site in Ohio to produce 10,000-ton batteries domestically. Located in Conneaut, the company plan to produce what are called Active Anode Materials (AAM) at the new facility. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2027.
At present, the US remains entirely dependent on imported natural graphite. Graphite One is, in part, trying to tackle this issue by linking domestic mining, transportation, processing, and battery material manufacturing into a single supply chain.
The companyโs Graphite Creek deposit in Alaska, identified by the US Geological Survey as the countryโs largest graphite deposit, would supply raw material to the Ohio facility via the Port of Nome and Great Lakes shipping routes.

Japan should create a legal framework for trading cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said.
"Crypto-ETFs would provide investors with easy-to-understand ways of investment," โ the proposal said.
The country's cabinet approved a draft amendment to classify crypto as a financial product in April, having previously treated it as a payment tool.
Attempts are already underway to develop and promote yen-based stablecoins, which are digital tokens pegged to the value of a traditional financial asset, such as a fiat currency.

CharuSan, a known banking systems expert on X, has argued that XRP and XLM may be among the first major cryptocurrencies to benefit from the Clarity Act. According to him, years of development, testing, and institutional preparation could translate into meaningful adoption within 3 to 6 months of the legislation taking effect.
"After the Clarity Act, it means there will be nothing left standing in the way of banks, global entities, and all institutional firms. There are projects like XRP, XLM, SOL, HBAR, and many other major ones that have been preparing for this day for years," โ CharuSan wrote on X.
Moreover, CharuSan stated that XRP and XLM have already completed important testing phases, positioning them strongly if regulatory clarity arrives through the Clarity Act.

China has begun operations of the world's first undersea data center directly powered by offshore wind. The Shanghai Lingang undersea data center demonstration project, built by a subsidiary of China Communications Construction, officially entered operation in the waters off Shanghai's eastern coast.
Its core innovation is what developers call a "direct offshore wind connection" model. The system also uses seawater as a natural cooling source through a circulating copper-pipe heat exchange design, reducing electricity consumption by 22.8%, eliminating freshwater use entirely and cutting land usage by more than 90%.
