My beloved comrades-in-arms – generals, officers and soldiers – who are greeting the new year in the overseas operations area,
On behalf of our Party and state and in reflection of the tender feelings of our people, the officers and soldiers of the entire army, and your parents, wives and children, I send new year greetings to all the commanding officers and combatants of the overseas operations units.
As the whole country is enveloped in a festive atmosphere of greeting the new year, I all the more miss you, who are fighting bravely on the battlefields in the alien land even at this moment, true to the order of your homeland.
Though you are now far away from your homeland, our Party and people always think of you first, the proud sons of our country.
2025, the year we are seeing off with great pride and dignity, is shining more brilliantly thanks to the imperishable honour you have defended at the cost of your blood and lives.
All of you have safeguarded heroically the dignity and honour of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
You have demonstrated to the full with what determination and fortitude one should carry out the order of the Party and the country. You are a source of the greatest strength and pride and a strong pillar of our Party and state.
The coming year 2026 will be another year of the great DPRK along with the remarkable feats you will perform on the overseas battlefields.
I really miss you all.
I hope that I will have a warm reunion with you, all officers and soldiers of the overseas operations units, as early as possible.

The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un received a congratulatory letter from the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on January 1 on the occasion of the New Year 2026.
The letter said the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un powerfully aroused the entire Party, the whole army and all people to successfully round off the first-stage struggle for pioneering and transformation towards overall development of socialism with daring spirit on all fronts for the national rejuvenation, and thus opened up a new era of strengthening of national power and enhancement of national prestige to be specially recorded in the history of development of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, ushered in a heyday of the development of the armed forces of the Republic and firmly defended the sovereignty of the country and well-being of the people.

Voice of Korea: Likening Salt to Treasure
One day in May 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Kwisong Salt Works producing salt by underground brine water.
He had led the work to introduce into reality the salt production method by underground brine water of great economic value in order to bring about a fresh turn in the salt industry which plays an important role in the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's living.
He said with pleasure: I was very glad to hear that a large amount of salt is produced at the small saltern through the introduction of the salt production method by underground brine water. I could hardly sleep and read the report concerned time and again overnight before coming here at a breath.
Seeing the heaps of salt in good order time and again, he added that he is really pleased and that they look like mountains of white gold to him. He declared all of this salt as treasure.

KCNA:New Factories Inaugurated in DPRK
The Cholryong Tile Factory and the Wonsan Building-materials Factory have been built in Kangwon Province of the DPRK.
The factories, furnished with efficient equipment needed for producing various kinds of tiles, roofing tiles and paving blocks, will help the province supply the finishing building materials by itself and push ahead with the regional and rural construction as required by the Workers' Party of Korea's policy.
Ceremonies for inaugurating them were held on the spots on December 31, 2025.
Present there were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials in the province, Wonsan City and Anbyon County, working people, builders and employees of the factories.
On the same day, officials of the Party and power organs in the province and relevant sectors visited the newly-built Wonsan Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory to discuss the issues of producing more efficacious medicines conducive to promoting the people's health.

Kangdong County Hospital and Kusong City Hospital started their medical service for the residents in regions on December 31, 2025.
