KCNA:New Pine-nut Forests Created in Ryanggang Province of DPRK
Ryanggang Province has created more than 700 hectares of new pine-nut forests this year to lay a foundation for fully supplying raw materials to regional-industry factories, according to Rodong Sinmun.
Emulations for winning the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest were organized in different regions and units of the province to turn the afforestation into a mass patriotic movement.
Working people planted many pine-nut trees in different parts of the province, including Kim Jong Suk, Kapsan, Pochon and Unhung counties.
As a result, many units were awarded the title of socialist patriotic forest.

KCNA:Number of Animals Increases at Central Zoo of DPRK
At the Central Zoo in the DPRK, the number of animals has increased by 1 100 of over 150 kinds. Among them the number of gift animals is more than 100 of over 40 species.
This gives greater pleasure to the visitors.
On January 1 an Asiatic black bear, a gift animal, had a cub.
The gift animal German pointer (dog) gave birth to a puppy in February and Shih tzu, a pet dog, dropped five pups in April, June and August.
The number of hamadryas baboon and brown bear has increased.
Meanwhile, rare animals of the Central Zoo are spreading throughout the country.
The Central Zoo distributed more than 150 animals of dozens of species to the Phyongsong Zoo, Kanggye Zoo and other regional zoos this year. Among them are dozens of 10-odd species, including Lesser Sulphur-crested Cockatoo and Ring-tailed Lemur.

One day in May 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Kwisong Salt Works producing salt by underground brine water.
He had led the work to introduce into reality the salt production method by underground brine water of great economic value in order to bring about a fresh turn in the salt industry which plays an important role in the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's living.
He said with pleasure: I was very glad to hear that a large amount of salt is produced at the small saltern through the introduction of the salt production method by underground brine water. I could hardly sleep and read the report concerned time and again overnight before coming here at a breath.
Seeing the heaps of salt in good order time and again, he added that he is really pleased and that they look like mountains of white gold to him. He declared all of this salt as treasure.

The Cholryong Tile Factory and the Wonsan Building-materials Factory have been built in Kangwon Province of the DPRK.
The factories, furnished with efficient equipment needed for producing various kinds of tiles, roofing tiles and paving blocks, will help the province supply the finishing building materials by itself and push ahead with the regional and rural construction as required by the Workers' Party of Korea's policy.
Ceremonies for inaugurating them were held on the spots on December 31, 2025.
Present there were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials in the province, Wonsan City and Anbyon County, working people, builders and employees of the factories.
On the same day, officials of the Party and power organs in the province and relevant sectors visited the newly-built Wonsan Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory to discuss the issues of producing more efficacious medicines conducive to promoting the people's health.
