The positive utilization of the artillery force is the most important factor deciding the victory in operation and battle and furthermore in war, he said, stressing that the People's Army should as ever put spurs to the artillery combat readiness, true to the Party's policy of attaching importance to the artillery and strengthening the artillery force and that the Party Central Committee's strategic plan for modernization of the artillery force should be thoroughly implemented within the new five-year plan for the development of the national defence.
He said that it is good to frequently organize training contests at all levels of the army on national holidays and other major occasions as seen today and the army should be engrossed only in the training for rounding off the combat preparations, adding that it is precisely the way for realizing the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's desire for building a powerful army and an expression of loyalty to the Party, the revolution, and the country.

Senior Party and government officials visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on April 15, the 114th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Present there were Pak Thae Song and Jo Yong Won, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, and other senior officials of the Party and the government, leading officials of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies and commanding officers of the armed forces organs.
A flower basket from Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid at the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Also, placed were flower baskets in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the DPRK State Affairs Commission, the SPA Standing Committee of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet.
The participants paid high tribute to the statues of the great leaders.

There took place an evening gala of youth and students in Pyongyang and a fireworks display on April 15 to celebrate the 114th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
The evening gala began with the song "We Sing of Our Country Holding the Leader in High Esteem" at Kim Il Sung Square.
Its participants showed a wave of celebration dances, extending their best wishes for immortality to President Kim Il Sung, who devoted his all to the sacred cause for the country and the people and laid a foundation for the prosperity of all generations to come.
The celebration dancing was continued along with the playing of song "Appearance of Korea" and other songs reflecting the high enthusiasm of the young vanguard to glorify the precious name of the patriotic youth.
