KCNA:Construction of Offshore Farm Accelerated in S. Hamgyong Province
South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the construction of the Riwon County Offshore Farm.
An excavation project for the wharf was completed in the main. And the foundation excavation for one hundred and tens of houses and public buildings were finished to be followed by the completion of ground concrete tamping.
Many blocks and box-shape prefab parts needed for the projects for framing of buildings and wharf are being produced and progress is being made in planting trees for the creation of windbreak forest and forming main road.

KCNA:Socialist Emulation for Improvement of Low-yielding Farm Fields
Organizations of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea at all levels in the DPRK launched a socialist emulation for the improvement of low-yielding farm fields.
The UAWK organizations in South Hamgyong Province conducted a socialist emulation in a methodological way to increase the fertility of thousands of hectares of low-yielding fields.
Agricultural workers and UAWK members in North Phyongan Province transported large quantities of self-sufficing manure to farms and carpeted the farm fields with humus soil in a qualitative way.
UAWK officials in Mangyongdae District of Pyongyang are bringing about a good result in increasing the fertility of soil with their enterprising work style and attitude.
Agricultural workers in Sariwon City and Junghwa County of North Hwanghae Province are improving the soil affected by cold and humidity and the acid soil through scientific application of self-sufficing manure based on field- and plot-specific soil analysis.
UAWK officials and members in South Hwanghae, South Phyongan and Kangwon provinces made successes in the work to increase the fertility of soil through a collective innovation movement.

Accordingly, a grand groundbreaking ceremony of regional-industry factories in Songchon County was held the following month to signal the start of the regional-industry revolution.

The DPRK has paid deep attention the public health for protecting the lives of the people and promoting their health, thus making many successes.
The DPRK government set it as an important policy to rebuild and dramatically develop the country's public health on an advanced basis so that the people can enjoy good health under excellent medical service, and has pushed forward with this work.
Pharmaceutical factories and medical appliances factories were modernized and such modern hospitals as the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital and the Samjiyon City Hospital and standard pharmacies built in different parts of the country.
Last year, the world-class Pyongyang General Hospital was built as a model to be followed by the whole country in terms of technology and experience.
