KCNA:Report on Cabinet's Work Submitted to First Session of 15th SPA of DPRK

Deputy Pak Thae Song, premier of the Cabinet, made a report on the work of the Cabinet at the First Session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

During the period of the Five-Year Plan, the plans for electric power, rolling steel, coal, electrolytic copper, electrolytic zinc and cloth production and housing construction and rail freight transport were successfully carried out among the major indices advanced by the Eighth Congress of the WPK. In the major industrial sectors, the production of Juche iron increased 3.2 times, nitrogen fertilizer 1.5 times, nonferrous metals by 1.9 times, cement 1.4 times and fishery 1.9 times, as compared with the year 2020. The increased production in major indices as a whole clearly demonstrated the development of our economy.

The metallurgical industry will make the existing foundations for Juche-based iron production prove effective, increase the quality of steel, install more processes for producing various kinds of rolled steel, and take measures to ensure the supply of raw materials and fuel.

The chemical industry sector will direct efforts to giving fullest play to the existing production capacity, while pushing ahead with the work to complete the project for establishment of C1 chemical industry and build up new structure so as to attain the production goals set forth for the sector without fail.

The Cabinet will take strong measures to supply manpower and materials to the electric power industry, put the electricity production and management on a scientific basis and make effective use of the produced electricity.

It will press ahead with the efforts to decisively resolve the energy problem, including the creation of natural energy generating capacity in regions of the country favorable to it.

It will continuously conduct the vigorous forest restoration and transformation work to turn all the mountains of the country into "gold" and "treasure" mountains, and make sure that the tasks facing the field of land and environment protection are carried out in a responsible manner.

Hong Jin Gyong - One of DPRK's Ten Best Sportspersons for 2025
Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Hong Jin Gyong, a Taekwon-Do player of the South Hwanghae Provincial Taekwon-Do Players Team, is one of the ten best players of the DPRK for 2025.

She won the women's individual pattern competition, individual sparring match and individual demonstration match in the senior category at the 23rd Taekwon-Do World Championships held in 2025 and was awarded women's individual technical prize.

She had a special hobby and aptitude for Taekwon-Do from her childhood.

After becoming a player of the South Hwanghae Provincial Taekwon-Do Players Team, she has attracted attention of experts by holding limelight in national games.

Hong, who is a Merited Athlete, won the women's individual sparring matches in the senior category at the 22nd Taekwon-Do World Championships and the 10th Asian Taekwon-Do Championship. -0-

Crimes of Japan, Sworn Enemy of Korean Nation, Seen through History
Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The Japanese imperialists coercively cooked up the "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty" to turn Korea into their colony.

In November 1905 Hirobumi Ito, chieftain of the invasion of Korea, put his feet on Korea and met with Emperor Kojong several times to force him to unconditionally accept the draft "treaty" already worked out by Japan.

In order to cook up the "treaty", the Japanese imperialists put military pressure by mobilizing a large number of troops and, at the same time, sought to attain their criminal purpose by luring ministers of the feudal Korean government to Japan's legation in Korea to threaten and blackmail them.

Taking the opportunity of a meeting of Korean ministers on the "treaty" held at the imperial palace, the Japanese imperialists encircled the palace with armed forces and forced those ministers to approve the "treaty", threatening them with bayonet.

In such way they declared that the "treaty" was concluded. And to give semblance of "legality" to it, they stole the seal of the Korean foreign minister and stamped it on the document by themselves.

After all, the "Ulsa Five-Point Treaty" is a fraudulent international document as it completely lacked the form of a treaty document because of having neither signature of the Korean emperor nor the seal of state, major procedures in putting any treaty in effect.

The then emperor Kojong, in his autograph letters to the rulers of different countries in January 1906, said that he did neither admit the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" from the very outset nor stamp the seal of the state. And he sent three secret agents to the Second International Peace Conference held in Hague in June next year to bring into light the illegality and nullification of the "treaty".

In 1963, the United Nations Commission on International Law in its report to the UN General Assembly defined the four treaties in the world, including the said "treaty", as invalid since they were concluded under coercion.

The Italian newspaper Il Manifesto disclosed that the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty", cooked up by the Japanese imperialists, is the largest fraudulent document ever in the world history.

With this "treaty", an illegal and invalid document, the Japanese imperialists came to seize the diplomatic rights of Korea and turn it into their colony. -0-
