KCNA:Scientific Measures for Self-Sufficiency and Modernization in Chemical Industry Sector

The chemical industry sector of the DPRK is taking scientific measures to hasten its self-sufficiency and modernization in an effort to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK.

Officials of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and relevant units are seeking ways to fulfill their responsibilities and duties in implementing the Party's decisions, including giving the fullest play to the existing capabilities to increase production and building up new structure.
They are intensifying the study and discussion in a focus on producing fertilizer, vinalon, paper and other chemical products as planned by ensuring the normal operation of major equipment, upgrading their performance and reinforcing them and securing sufficient fuel and raw materials.

They are also taking measures to scientifically confirm the economic and technical indices of newly-established production processes to prove their practical effectiveness and go ahead with the projects of weighty significance in putting them on a Juche basis.

They are putting together constructive opinions on substantially improving the working and living conditions of scientists, technicians and workers, saving energy, standardizing integrated control and production systems and putting the management on IT basis.

The chemical industry bases across the country are full of the enthusiasm to create unheard-of miracles and innovations in this year's drive to make a breakthrough in attaining the new long-term goals set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

Rodong Sinmun:People Enjoy Culture of Hot Spring in Snow-covered Forests of Mt Paektu

The Milyong Hotel is one of modern public catering bases newly built in Samjiyon City which is being further turned into a typical mountainous city in the northern part of the country, a characteristic four-season mountainous tourist resort, on the initiative and under the energetic guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

(…)

What is characteristic of the hotel is a bath in the spa.
The Paektusanmilyong Hot Spring water which flows into the spas is efficient against diseases according to experts.

(…)

This hotel has architectural beauty and service functions.Everyone is full of determination to dedicate themselves for the prosperity of the country where socialist civilization is coming into full bloom.

Indeed, the people’s laughter resounding through the forests of Mt Paektu is an echo of happiness of our people brought about by our Party’s people-first politics and our-style socialist system.

Admin’s note: How are elections done in DPRK?

Tomorrow, elections will be organized in DPRK for Supreme People’s Assembly, the parliament, having the legislative power and an important part of executive one (able to rewrite constitution and dismiss the President of State Affairs, i.e Kim Jong Un), the highest power which represents the real day-to-day instrument of working-class’ authority alongside local people’s assemblies.

In DPRK, several candidates per constituents are proposed by mass organization (General Federation of Trade-Unions, Socialist Women’s Union, Socialist Patriotic Youth League, and the several parties, like WKP, Chongryon or social-democratic one). These candidates are often working people, well-known activists in their towns, devoted parents, etc.

Afterwards, mass meetings and reunions are organized to select out all of these propositions one or two candidates (yes because you have many cases, in particular in villages, where two candidates are selected by these mass reunions and are competing against each other).

Then we have the day of the vote, when the choice is confirmed if there is one candidate (and often, elections look like party days, where voters are having fun), or one wins the majority of votes if there are two candidates.

For a small note: the deputies don’t have any wage from their new position, and so have to keep their current job, which means they cannot become a bureaucracy.

In short, there is no fundamental difference between elections in DPRK and elections in a socialist state like Cuba.

Admin’s note: I just discovered the possibility of editing images on telegram in higher resolution (sorry but in what world HD is an option?)… I apologize for the countless images that are ugly and low quality if you are on a computer. As an apology I will post 10 random pictures of this channel in higher quality as a symbol of change of images formatting.

To be honest, normally you are not supposed to see the difference on smartphone, this is only if you are on tablet, like me, that you see the difference.
