Nearly One Third of the Country to Be Transformed
A new history of regional transformation has opened in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea which is powerfully implementing the regional development policy of the new era to make the capital city envy regions within ten years.
Many things have been changed in the course of implementing the regional development policy for two years. Solid foundations for independent development were laid in the regions equivalent to one tenth of the country in 2024, the first year for implementing the policy, and in the regions to one fifth of the country in 2025, thus completely transforming the backward regional economic foundation and bringing about many changes in the life of the people
In 2024 regional-industry factories were built in 20 cities and counties but in 2025 public health facilities and leisure complexes built in different regions on a trial basis along with similar factories. This year will continue.

By Combining Koryo Medicine with Modern Medicine
The "National Exhibition of Sci-Tech Successes in the Field of Public Health--2025" was held in the capital city of Pyongyang in November last year. In the exhibition, a doctor drew attention of experts.
She was Kim Su Hyang at the Pothonggang District Hospital.
She presented the "Treatment Method for Relieving Clinical Symptoms of Aseptic Necrosis of Caput Femoris" to the exhibition. She said.
On the past 10-odd years, Kim has made painstaking efforts to invent the new treatment method combining modern medicine with Koryo medicine (…) She worked on the treatment method, analysing
the pharmacological action of Koryo medicinal materials.

Regional construction and rural construction are vigorously carried on along with the capital city construction in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Consequently, the demand for cement is growing day by day.
In recent years, workers have surpassed the level of peak production year several times since its inauguration.
This year, they have risen up for increased cement production, rejecting the precedent and limits again.
In keeping with the increased number of construction projects demanding cement, the complex planned to further raise the operating rate of equipment than last year and induced workshops and workteams to actively introduce advanced working methods and new technologies, arousing their enthusiasm from the beginning of the year. When the issue of urgently repairing the roasting furnace was raised, workers of the Calcination Workshop finished its repair work in a day, which had been scheduled to be done in three days.

Miners of several mines in charge of the supply of raw materials invented and introduced technical innovation proposals which are of significance in shortening the ores-conveying route of large trucks and operating crushers at full capacity, expanding successes in production.They also manufactured and installed devices for ensuring safe operation of equipment and introduced new mining and tunneling methods, registering high results in production every day.
This year, the workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex have produced tens of thousands of tons more of cement up to date.
They continue to expand successes in the cement production by kindling the fierce flames of creating new standards and new records with the high consciousness that the great breath of the Sangwon Cement Complex is precisely the vigorous advance at the grand construction sites.

Pyongyang Times: New rural villages continue to spring up
Many rural villages have undergone transformation in different parts of the country. Since the programme of a rural revolution in the new era was put forward at the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, tangible progress was made in its implementation in the past four years, resulting in the construction of modern houses for over 113 000 families in more than 1 860 farm villages at 500-odd farms across the country.

Rodong Sinmun:With Gem-pure Loyalty
Kim Yong Ok, living in Neighborhood Unit No. ９ of Tongdaewon-dong No. １ in Tongdaewon District, has been keeping it as part of her life to visit the mosaic depicting the peerlessly great men in her district to pay tribute to them and tidy up the surroundings for ages.
She took up this work over 20 years ago.
At that time, she was working as a medical worker and took good care of health and life of a special-class disabled soldier and did other laudable deeds for the society and collective, which was highly appreciated by the Party.
Hardly repressing the excitement at the motherly Party’s love and trust, she visited the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill that day.
She paid tribute to the statue and tidied up the surroundings of the statue, and at the same time hardened her will to repay the Party’s love and benevolence throughout her life.
The road of loyalty which started thus has never stopped since then.
Once, her children wanted to prepare a birthday party for her.
However, Kim Yong Ok dissuaded them and, instead, prepared tools necessary for the management of the surroundings of the mosaic.
From 10-odd years ago, her granddaughter joined her.
Now, Kim has reached her seventies and her granddaughter, who had started the work as a primary school pupil, has grown to be a university student.
However, they remain just the same in their loyalty.
Lots of people respect Kim Yong Ok, who is devoting gem-pure sincerity to the road of loyalty for holding President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in high esteem.

Looking at the products on display with pleasure, he gave an undeserved estimation that those who had used the products of the factory say they are the best.
After a while, he carefully looked at a product and pointed out that its brand did not look cultured and good and that the calligraphic style of the brand letters was not nice-looking.
He said trademarks should be made in a noble and cultured way in conformity with the aesthetic tastes and emotion of the people.
Saying that the flower drawn on the ground of the product of the factory is not a flower peculiar to our country, he gave detailed instructions on improving the brand. (…)
But it is the noble intention of Kim Jong Un that everything to be used by the people should be completed on the highest level in conformity with their demands and interests no matter how small it may be.

Sports and amusement games of women's union officials and members in the DPRK took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall on March 5 and 6 to mark the 116th March 8 International Women's Day.
There were the finals of all events on March 6.
Among the spectators were Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, officials and members of the women's union in Pyongyang.
In the volleyball and table tennis matches, players displayed their sports techniques they cultivated through mass sports activities.
Such amusement games as yut-game and running with balls on head and in arms stirred up the atmosphere of events with loud cheering.
Through the games, the women's union officials and members showed well the cheerful and optimistic appearance of the DPRK women who add beautiful fragrance to a large socialist family.
Ryongsong District came first in total standings.
