The second-day sitting of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea took place on Feb. 20.
The past five years, which witnessed the strenuous efforts to go through the first-stage course towards the comprehensive development of Korean-style socialist construction, were a period of great transformations and turns of profound significance in building up the Party struggling to realize the independence of the popular masses and developin the revolution. The Party has consistently adhered to the responsible working attitude of finding shortcomings first rather than successes and learning the secret to development from lessons in adopting Party policies and drawing up and carrying out work, and to the principle of attaching importance to the interests of the state and the people..

KCNA:More Senior Middle School Graduates in DPRK Volunteer for Army
Graduates of senior middle schools in Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK have volunteered for the Korean People's Army.
Those of Kaesong Secondary School No. 1 and Sonjuk Senior Middle School in Kaesong Municipality volunteered for the frontline posts with the iron will to firmly defend their beloved country.
Those of Manwol and Tokam senior middle schools in Kaesong Municipality vowed to join the army, stressing that it is the highest honor and pride of the young people in the present era to glorify their youth as soldiers.
Graduates of Koryo Senior Middle School in Kaesong Municipality, too, are determined to reliably defend the security of the country and the happiness of the people, always mindful of the request of teaching staff of their beloved alma mater and folks in their native places.
There was a ceremony for cheering those graduates. At the ceremony, speakers called on them to regard it as the most sacred duty and the highest honor to defend the country, and to firmly prepare themselves to be true vanguard fighters remaining faithful to the ideas and leadership of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The Myth of "Dependency on China "
The enemies of People's Korea like to portray the DPRK as "dependent on China " and even some on the Left repeat this . Worse still some ultra left elements try to say that the DPRK is a "neo-colony " of China and other such rubbish .
In reality trade with China in 2020 and 2021 dwindled to almost nothing and even now is only a small percentage of GDP in the DPRK .
Because the DPRK has a self-reliant economy , foreign trade is only worth 5 per cent of GDP . The DPRK produces a lot of what it needs at home and what cannot be produced at home is imported .Foreign trade is not an end in itself but a means to an end .

One day in November 2024, he visited the construction sites of regional-industry factories in Jaeryong County of South Hwanghae Province.
He said that as the year was drawing to a close and the completion of the factories was at the final stage, it was important for all the builders to enhance their sense of responsibility and role more than ever before and stressed repeatedly that they should not grow impatient but push ahead more meticulously with building work to perfectly ensure the quality of construction to the last.

For the past 10 years, DPRK has built a number of modern healthcare facilities conducive to protecting people’s lives and promoting their health.
A hospital village encompassing Okryu Children’s Hospital, Ryugyong Dental Hospital and Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital appeared in the Munsu area of the country’s capital city of Pyongyang whereas modern Samjiyon City Hospital was built at the foot of Mt Paektu. They are now giving full play to their vitality in practice.
In addition, pharmaceutical factories, medical supplies factories, specialized disease prevention facilities and standard pharmacies mushroomed in different parts of the country.
