KCNA:Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held in DPRK
A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations took place in Pyongyang on Feb. 15 to celebrate the 84th birth anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
Attending it were students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Chilgol Revolutionary School, representatives of the KCU organizations in all provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils to be admitted to the KCU.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, in his report noted that Kim Jong Ilformed the group for the study of the biography of General Kim Il Sung in his teens and led the schoolchildren to study his revolutionary history and become young revolutionaries holding their motherland dear.
He added that the history of noble love for the rising generation is being steadily carried forward by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Leisure complexes in Kangdong County of Pyongyang, Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province and Kaephung District of Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK, built as bases for the cultural life of popular masses, are now crowded with visitors everyday.
Cinemas, general commercial districts and other places are filled with laughter of working people, youth and students.
Residents have felt the great vitality of the Workers' Party of Korea's regional development policy, with their deep gratitude to the motherly Party which provided them with the precious wealth of prosperity and civilization.

KCNA:Figure Skating Demonstration Held
A figure skating demonstration was given at the Ice Rink on Monday to mark the February holiday.
Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Tok Hun and other senior Party and government officials, labor innovators and persons of merit, officials and working people in Pyongyang and members of the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan.
The performers showed the joy of people greeting the auspicious holiday with elegant and soft rhythms and high-tech movements.
In such numbers as collective performance "Frost Flowers" and "The Sound of a Horse's Hooves in Mt Paektu", they displayed their skillful skating techniques to the tune of lyrical, light and dynamic musical melodies.
Collective performances "The Motherland and My Destiny" and "We Are Koreans", depicted in a new and peculiar way, left a deep impression on the audience.

The Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, an important political event in the history of our Party and state, is to be held soon in the DPRK amid the great expectation and interest of all the Party members and other people across the country.
It will be an important watershed in the history of leadership of the WPK, which built a people's country dignified and powerful with self-respect and self-sustenance, remaining faithful to the socialist ideology and cause for 80 long years and has wisely guided the revolution and construction in the new era for comprehensive development of the state and the promotion of people's wellbeing.
The preparations for the Congress were finished and delegates of the Party to play an active role in the vanguard of the new sacred course left for the venue of the Congress Delegates and observers to the Ninth Congress of the WPK arrived in Pyongyang (…)
