KPA Founding Anniversary
Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- February 8, 1948 is the day when the Korean People's Army, the regular revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK, was founded.
After the liberation of the country on August 15, 1945, President Kim Il Sung set the founding of a powerful regular army as an essential requirement for building an independent and sovereign state and made tireless efforts to realize it.

Voice of Korea:Factory Benefiting the People
There is the Ryongaksan Soap Factory in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. One day in June 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the factory under construction.
Looking round the construction site, he said the factory is the one directly linked with the improvement of the people's living and the one the Workers' Party of Korea attaches importance to.
He called at the completed Ryongaksan Soap Factory again in October that year and saw its products.
He said it is necessary to provide the people with an affluent and happy life as early as possible to be envied by the world, and stressed the need to continuously direct great efforts to further consolidating the material and technical foundations of the sectors conducive to the improvement of the people's standard of living so that they can greatly benefit from them. The various kinds of "Ryongaksan"-trademarked liquid soap produced at the factory are popular among the Korean people

KCNA:Ice Sculpture Festival Goes on in DPRK
The Ice Sculpture Festival-2026 in celebration of February 16, the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il, is now going on in the DPRK with splendor. It was opened in Samjiyon City on the occasion of the auspicious February holiday.
The venue of the festival has been visited by people in Ryanggang Province and officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students from across the country touring the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

KCNA:Successes Made in Educational Sector of DPRK
The educational sector of the DPRK is taking practical measures to attain a new educational goal, according to Rodong Sinmun.
The Ministry of Education has directed efforts to ensuring that officials and educators in the education sector grasp the new curriculum and make preparations for its implementation.
Cities and counties have conducted short courses for educators. The ministry makes preparations for a short course for relevant officials in provinces, cities and counties.
Teacher training colleges assessed the practical ability for teaching majors so that graduates can master the contents of teaching materials and the teaching methods according to the new educational programme.
Universities across the country strive to consolidate and further develop the successes achieved in improving the educational structure last year and raise the contents and methods of education to a higher level.
The ministry is intensifying the operation to put the overall education on a higher level through the work to narrow the gaps between Pyongyang and regions and between towns and countryside in educational level.
The field of general education is pushing ahead with the work to create and introduce educational methods in conformity with the age and psychological characteristics of schoolchildren, and universities are encouraging all teachers to improve their practical abilities and direct their efforts to making teaching programs.

Several universities in the DPRK are pushing ahead with their efforts to improve education.
Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering has concentrated efforts on making good use of five centers for experimental education including the one for automotive engineering experimental education. It is also directing its effort to developing and manufacturing more equipment for experiment and practice.
Nampho University of Agriculture is intensifying the work to develop its overall education by realizing the integration of education, scientific research and production. By giving students research assignments and enrolling them in scientific research activities, it enables them to acquire knowledge, improve their practical abilities and complete their graduation papers through practice.
Sariwon Teacher Training College is concentrating its all efforts on broadening students' knowledge with the national assessment of the final-year students' practical ability for teaching majors in the sector of training teachers as an occasion. Through the inspection of classes at work, it analyzes new teachers' lectures and corrects their shortcomings. And it organizes the teaching contests among them to improve their qualifications.

Rodong Sinmun: Meetings with DPRK Hero and War Veteran Held
Youth and students in Pyongyang met with a war veteran on Feb 5 to mark the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army. Young people presented bouquets to Choe Pyong Man, a war veteran, at the venue of the meeting.
He sent a militant salute to the proud and reliable young vanguard, reflecting the minds of war veterans.
He said that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was the victory of the outstanding military ideas of President Kim Il Sung, the ever-victorious and iron-willed commander, and the victory won by the heroic spirit our army and people displayed in defending the country.

Saying that Juche Korea’s history and tradition of victory are being given steady continuity thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he called upon the young people of the new generation to firmly defend the motherland and turn out in the building of a prosperous power by inheriting the spirit of the soldiers.

Israel continues its massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. On the fourth day alone, Israeli forces indiscriminately targeted residential buildings and refugee tents in Gaza City and Han Yunis, killing over 20 Palestinians, including seven children. The international community is raising its voice in condemnation of Israeli expansionism for violating the purification agreement and continuing to commit inhumane atrocities in the Gaza Strip.
