Immortal Classic Works That Illuminated Lifeline of Socialism in the 1990s
In the 1990s when socialism collapsed in eastern Europe, Chairman Kim Jong Il made public in succession immortal classic works that indicated outstanding ideas and theories for the victorious advance of the socialist cause in order to make all the people realize the root cause of collapse of socialism and encourage the struggle of the world progressive parties.
Kim Jong Il clearly expounded that the party leadership is vital to the socialist cause in his classic work The Workers’ Party of Korea Organizes and Guides All the Victory of Our People published on October 3, 1990.
Kim Jong Il explained in his work that party leadership is vital to the socialist cause, the decisive guarantee of the strengthening the driving force of the socialist cause and increasing its role, the fundamental condition for developing the socialist cause in accordance with a correct struggle strategy and proper tactics, and is indispensable if revolutionary principles are to be adhered to consistently and implemented thoroughly in the whole course of developing the socialist cause.
Kim Jong Il made public the classic work On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building on October 10, 1992. In the work, he clarified the programmatic guiding principles that purity of the socialist idea must be defended firmly and continuity of leadership must be ensured if the cause of socialism is to be completed and, to do so, the party must be cemented.

With New Treatment Method

  Among the medical workers at the Hospital of Kim Chaek University of Technology is Ko Hye Sun who is specially good at Koryo therapy.

  While reading medical books in the days of studying at the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences, she was fascinated with the superiority of the Koryo medicine created by the Korean nation and its mysteriously excellent prescription and wonderful curative effect.

  After graduating from the university in 1995, she worked as a household doctor at the Jangchung Polyclinic in Songyo District.

  Along with it, she made persistent researches to find out major regions for acupuncture and combine physical stimulus in medical treatment so as to raise the curative effect.

  In the course, she completed a new treatment method which combined Koryo medicine and modern medicine.

  With this treatment method, she completely cured a woman worker with paraplegia accompanied with incurable disease at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex in 2023.

Voice of Korea:Protection of ecological environment brisk in Jagang Province

Jagang Province is pushing ahead with the work for protecting the ecological environment.

The province is further reinforcing the air environment monitoring posts, examining the ecological environment of industrial establishments such as the Huichon Silk Mill and the Manpho Smeltery and making preparations for remodelling dust arresters, tailing settling basins and industrial pollution water purifying facilities.

The province ensures that the fields of road improvement, urban management, forestry and agriculture plant more ground covers in the areas under their charge.

It is also paying attention to solving the sci-tech problems necessary for improving the ecological environment of its seat in contact with the Provincial Commission of Science and Technology.

Pyongyang Times:Revolution in construction a process of cultural revolution

Thanks to the Workers’ Party of Korea's plan and energetic guidance to provide the people with better welfare, a revolution in construction has been brought about and the entities of socialist civilization are mushrooming in the DPRK.

The revolution in construction we carry out is a worthwhile undertaking to create the wealth of the country and, at the same time, a process of the cultural revolution.

This revolution, aimed at creating material wealth by setting new standards and making new innovations in the whole course of construction including architectural design, is not simply the work of setting and enforcing new formative and technical standards of construction.

It leads the people to civilization in the new era and enables them to raise their cultural level.

People’s cultured living environment cannot be improved without construction.

Seeing all the structures, including modern dwelling houses and new villages, mushrooming in the capital and provinces, the people keenly realize the height of civilization intended by the Party.

Through the construction process, builders themselves become creators of new culture and new civilization as they actively introduce advanced construction methods.

When the splendid bases for cultural life are built in cities and counties, bases for regional development, and all the regional people possess rich emotional feelings and cultural attainments, leading a life in good health under excellent conditions and environment, great progress will be made in the work for achieving cultural progress in the provinces.

Admin’s note: DPRK uses the term "Cultural Revolution" not in the same way as China and Albania historically did.

DPRK uses it to mean a change of life standards, education, healthcare, housing... What Albania and China called "Cultural Revolution", a country-wide class struggle against capitalist elements of the mentality and society, is named "Ideological Revolution" in DPRK.

Reminder that DPRK regards three revolutions, technical, ideological and cultural, as means to build socialism.

This follows the sentence of Lenin:

Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification of the whole country

Soviet power means the dictatorship of prolerariat (which is the height of class struggle and repression of the enemies, combined with construction of socialism, to create a society without classes), electrification means the development of productive forces (to create a society of abundance without commodity production and money). Kim Il Sung declared that the important part of this quote is "Soviet Power" and so ideological/cultural revolution.
