All the indexes have been improved to maximize its strike capability, and the mobility, intelligence and hitting accuracy of the rockets, in particular, have remarkably been upgraded.
The mobility of the newly-modernized launcher vehicle is also perfect.
The self-steered precisely guided flight system, which can neglect any outside intervention, is a major feature that demonstrates the superiority of this weapon system.
The course of achieving this success was not all plain sailing, but the task has wonderfully been carried out by our scientists and technicians.
I am sure that no other country would acquire such technology or possess such capability in a few years at least.
If they had seen this test, our enemies would obviously have recognized the modernity and development potential of our defence technology.
This is clear proof of the steady improvement and uninterrupted evolution of our defence technology.
As I have always emphasized, the relevant activities we conduct are clearly aimed at none other than further raising the level of our deterrent against a nuclear war.
Demonstrating such a will and capability is itself a responsible exercise of the deterrent.
This cannot be but indispensable for self-defence today.
I extend thanks to the defence science research group that has made devoted and painstaking efforts to perfect this weapon system.
The result and significance of this test will be a source of excruciating mental agony and serious threat to the forces that attempt to provoke a military confrontation with us.
Our artillerymen, possessed with the most precise, destructive and massive strike capability, will perform the responsible mission of deterring war."

KCNA:Modern Houses Built in Kangwon Province of DPRK

Along with a new era of the Korean-style rural development, farms in Changdo and Thongchon counties, Kangwon Province of the DPRK, have been undergoing a radical change.

New villages, built in the sunny places of the Taebaek Farm in Changdo County and the Myonggo Farm in Thongchon County, tell of the great love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the agricultural workers.

Ceremonies of moving into new houses took place on the spots. Present there were officials of the Party and power organs in the province and the counties, builders and agricultural workers.

Addresses were made and licenses for the use of houses were handed over to be followed by speeches.

As the house-moving began, cheerful dancing parties were displayed. Songs of happiness and joyful laughter were heard from each house where a national flag of the Republic was fluttering.

Officials visited the new houses to congratulate their owners and encouraged them to do more work for the grateful Workers' Party of Korea and the socialist system.

KCNA:Protection of Ecological Environment in DPRK

Jagang Province of the DPRK pushes ahead with the work for protecting the ecological environment.

The province has further reinforced the aeroscopy posts and examined the condition of ecological environment at such industrial establishments as the Huichon Silk Mill, the Manpho Smeltery and the Kanggye Silk Thread Mill to make preparations for remodeling air cleaners, tailing ponds and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

Meanwhile, the province ensures that the relevant sectors, including the ones of road improvement, urban management, forestry, agriculture and river improvement, plant more turfs in the areas in their charge under the plan of the general mobilization for land administration.

In contact with the provincial committee of science and technology, it pays attention to solving the sci-tech problems necessary for improving the ecological environment in its seat.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un always stresses the need to do everything in Korean style according to the aesthetic sense of the people. One day in September 2013, he visited the May Day Stadium on Rungna Islet in the capital city.


A lot of national and international games and events were held at the large and unique stadium with 150,000 seats in the past.

That day Kim Jong Un learned about the seats and said that it was necessary to completely face-lift the stand by installing new nice-looking seats convenient for watching games. And he gave instructions on the remodelling of the stadium.

He also put special emphasis on harmonizing colours of the stand:
 

If red, blue and white seats are arranged to symbolize the national flag, the stadium will look conspicuous.
In the construction sector, not only the design but also the building work should represent a clear theme. In a word, even painting should clearly show the main point we are going to say.

Birthday Spread to Woman Centenarian
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Kim Kyong Son, a woman centenarian living in Neighbourhood Unit No. 86, Mirae-dong, Phyongchon District, Pyongyang Municipality.

Deeply moved by the benevolence of the motherly Workers' Party of Korea, the woman centenarian expressed her gratitude to Kim Jong Un.

Officials of the Phyongchon District Committee of the WPK, her family members and relatives and villagers congratulated her on the auspicious event.

Born into a poor peasant family during the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists, she had to serve as a slave from her childhood. It was after the country's liberation that she could lead a worthwhile life a genuine master of the country.

She had honestly worked at her revolutionary post for decades and has done good deeds for the country even after becoming a pensioner to win the respect of all. -0-

KCNA:Sariwon Tannery inaugurated

The Sariwon Tannery in North Hwanghae Province has been remodelled.
All its production lines, ranging from raw material feeding to finishing, and surroundings were renovated. This provides another material and technical guarantee for supplying light industrial bases with high-quality leather needed for the production of various kinds of daily necessities.
The tannery was inaugurated with due ceremony on January 26.

Present at the ceremony were officials and working people in the province and Sariwon City and employees of the tannery.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the tannery.
