KCNA:Overhauling of Farm Machines Brisk in Agricultural Sector of DPRK

Agricultural officials and workers in the DPRK are stepping up the overhauling of farm machines.

Yonan, Paechon and Anak counties in South Hwanghae Province have registered good results while producing necessary accessories by relying on their own technical forces and production foundations.

Chongjin City and Onsong and Kilju counties in North Hamgyong Province have improved the performance of tractors through introduction of efficient processing methods and valuable technical innovation proposals.

Pyongyang Municipality is concentrating efforts on the repair and maintenance of tractors while arousing the initiative and ingenuity of skilled workers.

North and South Phyongan provinces are carrying on the large-, medium- and small-repair of tractors in a qualitative way while maintaining various kinds of farm machines and securing farm implements.

KCNA:Meeting Held to Review 2025 Socialist Emulation in Fruit Farming Sector

A meeting was held in the DPRK on January 26 to review the 2025 socialist emulation in the fruit farming sector.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Agricultural Commission, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and units participating in the emulation and exemplary agricultural workers.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a reviewing report.

The report analyzed and reviewed a series of shortcomings and lessons revealed in the socialist emulation and stressed the issues for all fruit production units to further consolidate their own agrochemicals production bases this year and invent and manufacture many farm machines and farm implements to increase the proportion of fruit farming done by machines.

The meeting heard speeches on the experience gained in fruit production true to the Party's policy on fruit farming.

Then the rankings were announced.

Citations and rotating pennants in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee and the Cabinet of the DPRK were conferred on Pukchong County, the Onchon Fruit Farm and the Toksong Apple Farm.

KCNA:Sci-tech Development Promoted in DPRK

According to Rodong Sinmun, the State Commission of Science and Technology of the DPRK strives to set a correct goal for the qualitative development in the field of science and technology and work out a scientific and realistic plan for attaining it.

The commission is stepping up the work to draw up a plan of this year for the development of science and technology while selecting the major national projects for sci-tech development with the main emphasis on solving the problems urgently needed for the economic development and the improvement of people's standard of living.

Discussion is focused on the issues arising in realizing the home production of equipment needed for regional-industry factories, putting the designing of production lines on a scientific basis and placing the treatment environment of city and county hospitals on a high level.

Also, such work is discussed as to subdivide the criteria for selecting talents according to each economic sector and qualification grade and establish evaluation and management methods so that all the institutions and enterprises can mobilize their own sci-tech talents to the full in conformity with their abilities.

Meanwhile, efforts are directed to properly setting the deliberation items and standards for scientific and technological problems and perfecting a system of scientific and technological examination.

The project is being accelerated in contact with relevant units to further improve the dissemination of science and technology and raise the level of unmanned database building process.

Needless to say, in socialist society the socialist principle of distribution operates, so those who earn more can buy more. But this does not allow anyone to buy more goods than he needs simply because he has the money.

That is because we have achieved technical upgrading of this weapon system to employ its most powerful characteristics in a most appropriate and effective way, and thus made it possible to apply it in specific attacks.
All the indexes have been improved to maximize its strike capability, and the mobility, intelligence and hitting accuracy of the rockets, in particular, have remarkably been upgraded.
The mobility of the newly-modernized launcher vehicle is also perfect.
The self-steered precisely guided flight system, which can neglect any outside intervention, is a major feature that demonstrates the superiority of this weapon system.
The course of achieving this success was not all plain sailing, but the task has wonderfully been carried out by our scientists and technicians.
I am sure that no other country would acquire such technology or possess such capability in a few years at least.
If they had seen this test, our enemies would obviously have recognized the modernity and development potential of our defence technology.
This is clear proof of the steady improvement and uninterrupted evolution of our defence technology.
As I have always emphasized, the relevant activities we conduct are clearly aimed at none other than further raising the level of our deterrent against a nuclear war.
Demonstrating such a will and capability is itself a responsible exercise of the deterrent.
This cannot be but indispensable for self-defence today.
I extend thanks to the defence science research group that has made devoted and painstaking efforts to perfect this weapon system.
The result and significance of this test will be a source of excruciating mental agony and serious threat to the forces that attempt to provoke a military confrontation with us.
Our artillerymen, possessed with the most precise, destructive and massive strike capability, will perform the responsible mission of deterring war."

KCNA:Modern Houses Built in Kangwon Province of DPRK

Along with a new era of the Korean-style rural development, farms in Changdo and Thongchon counties, Kangwon Province of the DPRK, have been undergoing a radical change.

New villages, built in the sunny places of the Taebaek Farm in Changdo County and the Myonggo Farm in Thongchon County, tell of the great love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the agricultural workers.

Ceremonies of moving into new houses took place on the spots. Present there were officials of the Party and power organs in the province and the counties, builders and agricultural workers.

Addresses were made and licenses for the use of houses were handed over to be followed by speeches.

As the house-moving began, cheerful dancing parties were displayed. Songs of happiness and joyful laughter were heard from each house where a national flag of the Republic was fluttering.

Officials visited the new houses to congratulate their owners and encouraged them to do more work for the grateful Workers' Party of Korea and the socialist system.
