Rodong Sinmun:Efforts Made in DPRK to Improve Qualifications of Teachers

Teachers’ retraining institutes in Pyongyang direct efforts to improving the qualifications of teachers.

The Taedonggang District Teachers’ Retraining Institute has ensured that all the academic advisers solve practical problems arising in teaching for the new school year and that more teaching materials and aids for improving the quality of basic education and raising the effectiveness of teaching are explored and introduced.

The Mangyongdae District Teachers’ Retraining Institute has directed efforts to making all the trainees be well versed in the contents of teaching materials according to the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme and work out teaching plans and multimedia programs on a high level.

The Unjong District Teachers’ Retraining Institute has actively conducted the work to create and generalize new teaching methods including enlightenment, brainstorm, and discussion-oriented teaching methods helpful to improving the practical abilities of students.

Teachers’ retraining institutes in Phyongchon, Ryokpho and other districts, too, have dealt with the teaching contents necessary for improving the cognitive effect of students so that teachers can improve their practical abilities.

Admin’s Note: I will probably do stats at the end of the semester about what country was quoted by DPRK medias and how much because it says a lot about the anti-imperialist strategy envisioned by Pyongyang and its allies. For example, we notice less occurrences of Cuba following recognition of puppet regime, but more of Russia following the Ukraine war, and more of Iran since 12-days war.

KCNA:Finishing Building Materials Factory Inaugurated in Kaesong Municipality

Working people in Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK have remodeled the finishing building materials factory.

The completion of the factory, furnished with the processes of assembling various kinds of aluminium- and plastic-framed windows and producing roofing tiles and paving blocks with locally available raw materials, makes it possible to supply enough building materials necessary for regional construction and urban management.

Present at its inauguration ceremony held on the spot on January 21 were officials concerned, builders, employees of the factory and working people in the municipality.

Choe Kyong Nam, chairman of the Kaesong Municipal People's Committee, addressed the ceremony to be followed by a speech.

The speakers called upon the employees of the factory to take good care of equipment and steadily raise the level of technical skills by dint of science and technology so as to improve the quality of products and radically increase their output.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round various places of the factory.

Rodong Sinmun:Catalyst Production Base Built in DPRK

A new catalyst production base has been built at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex in the DPRK.

The catalyst production base is another valuable asset and creation of self-reliance which is of great significance in laying the foundation for the long-term development of the chemical industry by producing the necessary catalysts with our own efforts and technology.

An inauguration ceremony took place on the spot on Jan. 20.

Present there were Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WKP, Ri Song Bom, chairman of the provincial people’s committee, officials concerned and officials and employees of the complex.

Minister of Chemical Industry Kim Son Myong addressed the ceremony.

He called upon the employees of the complex to amplify the might of science and technology on the basis of the successes made in establishing a new catalyst production process and thus increase fertilizer production.

KCNA:WPK Central Committee sends congratulations to 14th Congress of CPV
