Regional-industry factories built in 20 cities and counties across the country are launching a socialist emulation drive for improving the quality of products and expanding their varieties.
The Unpha County Foodstuff Factory, the Kumya County Foodstuff Factory, the Hamju County Foodstuff Factory and the Tongsin County Foodstuff Factory have technically streamlined the soy and bean paste production process, oil refining process, and bread and sandwich cake production process and installed another equipment to improve the quality of foodstuffs of different kinds.
The Sukchon County Foodstuff Factory has introduced advanced technology and experience of the national light-industry factories to increase the varieties of the products peculiar to the region.
The daily necessities factories in the city of Kusong, and Kujang, Ichon, Kosan, Jaeryong, Songchon and Usi counties are producing various kinds of building parts, woodwork and school fixtures.
The garment factories in the city of Kusong, and Kosan, Sukchon, Kumya and Kim Hyong Jik counties gave precedence to designing clothes according to sexes, occupations and seasons and conducted technical study and products show, thus ensuring the quality of garments of various kinds on a high level.

Workers in the vehicle-building industry of the DPRK are revitalizing production in the new year.
The Ragwon General Machine Enterprise has attached priority to supplying materials and improving quality control while giving full play to the mental strength of working masses through motivation activities and visual agitation.
Workers and technicians are speeding up the production of hydraulic excavators while closely linking processes from production of parts to product finishing. Progress has been made in ensuring precision in processing parts by using various kinds of cutting tools and enhancing the performance and reliability of travel apparatus and controls.
The Kumsong Tractor Factory has fully prepared spare parts and jigs and equipment and increased the responsibility and role of technicians and skilled workers to produce various kinds of parts necessary for the production of tractors. At the same time, it is making sure that all the products are in line with the technical indices by meeting the requirements of processing order and design.
Workers and technicians of the general small-sized farm machine production enterprise are making successes in the current production and the development of new-type tractors with updated capacity and the Sunchon Engine Factory is making collective innovation in carrying out its assignments while taking measures to raise extraction rate of products.
The Huichon Precision Machine Plant and the Hamhung Wheel Factory, too, have made successes in the production of various products under contract.

Rodong Sinmun:Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm Inaugurated in DPRK
The Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm was inaugurated in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.
The construction of the pedigree farm with all conditions including office building, hatching and fry breeding grounds laid another material and technical foundation for breeding Atlantic salmons more actively on the east coast of the country.
Its inauguration ceremony took place on Friday.
Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Pak Myong Ho, chairman of the North Hamgyong Provincial People’s Committee, officials concerned, officials of the provincial fishery management bureau, and officials and employees of the pedigree farm.
Song Chun Sop, minister of Fisheries, addressed the ceremony.
He called upon the officials and employees of the farm to devote their wisdom and enthusiasm to bringing about a great turn in the development of the country’s fish farming, with the pride of working at the pedigree farm built under the care of the motherly Workers’ Party of Korea.
That day, members of the mobile artistic motivation teams of Chongjin and Kim Chaek fishery stations gave a performance in celebration of the inauguration of the farm.

There is the Masikryong Ski Resort in a scenic mountain area of Kangwon Province in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The ski resort has all perfect conditions for sports, tourism and relaxation.
One day in August 2013, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Masikryong Ski Resort.
Looking at the ski runs stretching from the summit of Taehwa Peak, he asked an official about their state during the rainy season.
The official said the ski runs had not been damaged despite a lot of downpour during the rainy season. Kim Jong Un said it proves that our soldier-builders had built up the ski runs in a qualitative way.
That day, he stressed the need to establish a good drainage system lest the ski runs should be washed by rainwater.
As a matter of fact, he had foreseen possible damage in the rainy season and underscored the need to plant turf on the ski runs some months before.
