Every so often I'm reminded I'm not neuro typical.
I struggle so much with object permanence.
And the thing is that it's not "objects" it's tasks, it's things to do or to keep checking on, that I stress so much about them, I forget I have to do X, and when I remember I beat myself up about "how could I have forgotten", things with work, collabs, artists, stock, etc. and personal things in my life, if it was just "oh I forgot to reorder material" but it's "I forgot to order material, I need to put the wash, make lunch, finish a couple of orders to ship, feed the cats, change the water filter and I should really clean up the workshop, there's too much papers I should trash... wait what did I have to do?" And I'll forget the first parts.
I make lists, then promptly forget about them and never use them.
I set up reminders, and then they become ignored once my brain has the notification become part of the UI.
I struggle so much with this stuff and the stress it adds to my life, but that's my struggle and I'll manage, I always do.

If an order arrives late, broken, or vanishes into the void, one would think the next step is simple:
contact the courier and fix it.
Well, not for us.
We use third-party platforms to keep costs down, which forces every claim to go through an intermediary first.
So, instead of straight up fixing the issue, we’re stuck messaging this third party hoping they'll actually bring the issue up to the end shipping company.
Dealing with a middle man (an intermediary) isn't bad, but it does bring issues that wouldn't come up by dealing with couriers ourselves.
The upside of intermediaries:
It works great… until it doesn’t.
Recently, we’ve even been asked for manufacturer invoices to process claims. Sounds reasonable, unless you are the manufacturer like we are. Then we're a bit stuck.
Customer
Going direct with couriers would solve part of this issue, but shipping costs would jump so much that it starts competing with the value of the order itself.
So we end up with lower costs, but less control. And now we’re stuck balancing:
