📸 "Many things have been narrated about Imam Ali’s food, his clothes, his living conditions and his children. The narrator says, 'I went and saw that Imam Hasan (A) and Imam Husayn (A) were sitting down and eating something. Their food was bread, vinegar, and [some simple] vegetables. I said, ‘Sons of our Master, you are Princes! You are the family of the [Islamic] government! You are sons of the Commander of the Faithful! There are so many different kinds of foods on the market. In Rahbah – a place near Kufa – there are so many [food] products which the people are enjoying. And this is the food of the sons of our Master?!'' Imam Hasan (A) and Imam Husayn (A) looked towards him and said, 'You have forgotten about the Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali]'. 'Go and see how [simply] he lives.'"
