🥗A Time of Preparation: The Journey of Great Lent 2026🗒

The Lenten season is here. This year, the Holy and Great Lent for the Orthodox Church begins on Feb 23th.

For us, this is much more than a period of dietary changes. It is a sacred 40-day journey—a spiritual pilgrimage towards the radiant joy of Pascha (Easter, on April 12, 2026).

▶️Lent is our invitation to "return to ourselves," just like the Prodigal Son. It’s a time for:
🔹 Prayer: Deepening our conversation with God, attending the beautiful, penitential services.
🔹 Fasting: Simplifying our meals to discipline the body and remind ourselves that "man shall not live by bread alone."
🔹 Almsgiving: Opening our hearts in generosity to those in need, seeing Christ in our neighbor.

▶️This journey has a clear and beautiful destination: the Holy Week and the Empty Tomb. Every step of restraint is meant to make our hearts lighter, quieter, and more ready to receive the triumphant news: "Christ is Risen!"

▶️Let us enter this season not with a sigh of burden, but with a hopeful spirit. It is a gift of time—time to cleanse, to forgive, to draw nearer to God and to one another.
