💶 Wsparcie finansowe ze strony Komisji ma odbywać się z programu „Horyzont Europa” i „Cyfrowa Europa”.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held a high-stakes hearing on Wednesday to examine the role of social media platforms in facilitating child exploitation online. The CEOs of Meta, Snap, Discord, X, and TikTok were summoned to testify before the lawmakers, who questioned them about their policies and practices to protect children from online predators, cyberbullying, self-harm, and suicide.
This was the first time Evan Spiegel of Snap, Jason Citron of Discord, and Linda Yaccarino of X appeared before Congress. According to the senators, the committee subpoenaed them after they refused to attend the hearing voluntarily. The committee chair, Senator Dick Durbin, said that Citron only agreed to testify after US Marshals were sent to Discord’s headquarters at taxpayers’ expense.
