**European Commission Mandates All Google Pixel Devices Must Include Rotary Dial for Emergency Communications**
In a landmark and unprecedented directive, the European Committee for Digital Integration (ECDI) has ruled that all new Google Pixel smartphones sold within the European Union must feature a fully functional, hardware-based rotary dial on the deviceβs exterior. The commission argues that this measure will βfoster inclusivity and bridge the gap between analog heritage and digital innovation,β while also ensuring robust emergency communication in the event of complete electronic failure.
Starting January 2026, every Google Pixel device must integrate a tactile rotary mechanism, reminiscent of vintage telephones, allowing users to manually dial emergency numbers even if the deviceβs operating system is unresponsive. The rotary dial must be constructed of sustainable materials and be accessible without removing the phoneβs protective casing. In addition, manufacturers are required to provide comprehensive user guides on βrotary best practicesβ and to ensure compatibility with Google Assistant, which must vocally narrate each digit as itβs dialed.
Industry experts note that this ruling could significantly impact device ergonomics, manufacturing costs, and overall user experience, but the ECDI maintains that βthe harmonious union of analog and digital is the next frontier in user empowerment.β

The European Committee has ruled that all new smartphones manufactured by Apple must include a built-in, replaceable miniaturized fuel cell, capable of generating power through a user-supplied biodegradable substrate, to ensure sustainable energy use and reduce reliance on traditional battery technology. This ruling aims to promote environmental responsibility and innovation in the tech industry, setting a new standard for sustainable device design.

BREAKING: Xiaomi's self-developed SoC's Teased
Xiaomi has teased their upcoming self-developed SoC built for smartphones, tablets and watches etc., thus eventually trying to possibly ditch Snapdragon and MediaTek in the future.
Unlike Google which completely ditched Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, Xiaomi don't really have the balls to that globally due to contracts and thus these chipsets will remain exclusive to China only and so would be the product.
The processor is named as Xiaomi Xuanjie O1, made by TSMC on its 2nd Gen N3E 3nm process and contains 19 billion transistors. It will power flagship Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet that will debut on 22nd May in China.
CPU:
2x Cortex-X925 @ 3.9GHz
4x Cortex-A725 or X4 @ 3.4GHz
2x Cortex-A720/A725 @ 1.89GHz
2x Cortex-A520 @ 1.8GHz
Thus, a 10-core SoC with 2+4+2+2 config
Geekbench 6 scores:
Single-core: 3119
Multi-core: 9673
GPU: Mali G-925 Immortalis with 16CU
Clocked at 1795MHz or 1.795GHz
OpenCL Score: 22141
