In recent years I have found that pushing to 4K is not really worth what it was cracked up to be. 8K is just too much and unnecessary. At a certain point we do hit diminishing returns in resolutions.

The only way to win is not to play. Inviting the internet to control our home still seems as crappy an idea now as it was when it first came about. Our recommendation still remains ditch the smart home products.
