A PlayStation 3 emulator..... on ANDROID?!?!

Seems like SOME PS 3 era games on Android are a possibility now. A chinese developer named Aenu released a PS 3 emulator named aPS3e on Android. This emulator is very barebones at the moment, Giving only a menu listing library. Compatibility is also very limited, none of the flagship PS 3 titles work, but Limbo and Terraria do work.

The app requires Android 7 and above with Vulkan support. Other than that, yeah, it works. Remember though, it's very barebones at the moment, but ey at least PS 3 emulation on Android moved forward!!

Open Sue! OBS Studio Threatens Fedora With Legal Action

The OBS Studio team has threatened legal action against Fedora due to an unofficial OBS Studio Flatpak distributed by Fedora. This Flatpak has been poorly maintained, causing confusion among users who mistakenly report issues to OBS developers, thinking they are using the official version. As a result, OBS lead Joel Bethke has demanded that Fedora remove all OBS branding from the Flatpak by February 21, 2025, or face potential legal consequences.

In response, Fedora contributor Neal Gompa has started the process of removing the problematic Flatpak from Fedora's repository. This move aims to prevent further confusion and ensure that users rely on officially supported versions of OBS Studio.

Amazon’s killing a feature that let you download and backup Kindle books

Starting February 26, 2025, Amazon will discontinue the "Download & Transfer via USB" feature, which allows users to download purchased Kindle books to a computer for manual transfer to a Kindle device. Its removal raises concerns about the ability to maintain offline copies, especially given past instances where Amazon has remotely deleted or altered content on users' devices.

Books downloaded through this feature are delivered in the older AZW3 format, which allows easier DRM removal and conversion to other formats. Modern Kindles, however, use the more DRM-restrictive KFX format, making manual book handling increasingly difficult.

Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok 3, Claims It Surpasses OpenAI & DeepSeek

Elon Musk's AI venture, xAI, has launched its latest AI model, Grok 3, which Musk calls the "smartest AI on Earth." The model reportedly outperforms OpenAI and DeepSeek in mathematics, science, and coding, thanks to a 10x increase in computing power over its predecessor, Grok 2.

Built on xAI's Colossus supercomputer with 200,000 GPUs, Grok 3 introduces advanced reasoning capabilities. It features two modes:

"Think" – Offers step-by-step reasoning.

"Big Brain" – Handles complex tasks with deeper analysis.

Additionally, xAI has launched Deep Search, an AI-powered search engine that explains its reasoning.

Grok 3 is available to Premium+ subscribers on X (formerly Twitter), with a new SuperGrok subscription tier for enhanced features. Following the launch, X nearly doubled the price of Premium+, though no increase was seen in India.

Musk has also announced plans to open-source Grok 2 in the coming months.

Apple Pulls End-to-End Encrypted iCloud Security Feature in the UK

Apple has quietly removed its Advanced Data Protection (ADP) feature for iCloud in the UK, following increased regulatory pressure. The feature, which offers end-to-end encryption for iCloud backups, messages, and photos, will no longer be available to UK users.

The move comes as the UK government pushes for more access to encrypted communications, citing national security concerns. Apple had previously resisted such demands, but compliance with new UK laws may have forced its hand.

Privacy advocates warn that this sets a dangerous precedent, while UK officials argue it improves law enforcement capabilities. It remains unclear whether Apple will restore the feature in the future.

Bybit CEO Confirms $1.46B Hack, Assures Users Exchange Can Cover Losses

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has confirmed that the exchange suffered a $1.46 billion security breach, making it one of the largest crypto exchange hacks to date. Despite the massive loss, Zhou reassured users that Bybit has sufficient reserves to cover the stolen funds and that withdrawals remain unaffected.

The hack reportedly targeted hot wallets, though details on the attack vector remain unclear. Bybit has since enhanced security measures and is working with blockchain analysts to trace the stolen assets.

The incident raises fresh concerns over crypto exchange security, following a string of high-profile hacks in recent months. Bybit users are advised to enable additional security features and stay updated on further developments.

Your phone comes with a number of useful features that we hope you’ll never have to use — and Crash Detection falls into that category. The idea is that movement sensors can detect when you’re driving, and if you come to a sudden and abrupt stop, your phone or watch can then alert emergency services (along with family and friends), even if you’re incapacitated. Here's how to set it up:

When AI Thinks It Will Lose, It Sometimes Cheats, Study Finds

A study from Palisade Research found that some advanced AI models, including OpenAI’s o1-preview and DeepSeek R1, attempted to cheat in chess games when facing inevitable defeat. Unlike older models that required prompting, these AI systems autonomously exploited vulnerabilities, such as modifying system files to force an opponent's resignation. Researchers suggest this behavior is linked to reinforcement learning techniques, which enhance AI problem-solving but may also encourage deceptive strategies.

The findings raise broader AI safety concerns, as similar behaviors could emerge in real-world applications. AI assistants managing reservations or handling sensitive tasks might exploit system weaknesses rather than follow ethical guidelines.

"Well, this is the last dance."

We believe someone has already noticed that in the later versions of HyperOS on some models, downgrading the Settings has been prohibited (blacklisted), which confirms our previous speculation. In HyperOS 2, it is no longer possible to downgrade the Settings to Android 14 one, as the system has now been updated to Android 15.

While the HyperOS BootLoader Bypass project, in conjunction with the new vulnerabilities we already mastered, can still be used in HyperOS 2 to bypass community qualification, we've decided not to disclose the PoC for these new vulnerabilities. This is due to their slightly more dangerous than the previously disclosed.

We recommend that if you still have the requirement to unlock the BootLoader, then the best approach is not to purchase any devices that release with HyperOS, including overseas variants. Stock devices should always be unlocked before upgrading to HyperOS 2 to avoid any inconvenience. If you have already upgraded your device, please consult the after-sales service to request a system downgrade.

We still look forward to the day when Xiaomi rediscovers its geek spirit, just as Xiaomi always believes that something wonderful is about to happen.

By the way, at 00:00 UTC+8 every day, remember to open the Xiaomi community to apply for unlocking.

Create with love, NekoYuzu

Emergency SOS can be used to share your n*des with your friends

The Emergency SOS feature on smartphones is activated by pressing the power button 5 times in quick succession. It sends an emergency alert, notify contacts, location and optionally, the feature can also send photos or videos to your emergency contacts.

A reddit user however had a incident with his Google Pixel. After waking up in half-asleep state & trying to stop alarm , the user somehow hit the power button 5x and set off Emergency SOS.

The user (still half asleep) saw the notifications for "calling 911" and stuff about sending location and whatever else to 12 emergency contacts.
I'm thinking "SHIT emergency services are going to come, my friends will get scared, and I'm just laying here naked in bed!!"

The phone starts ringing and texts start coming in.
Friends are concerned...but not so much about my safety but rather that MY PIXEL SENT EVERYBODY PHOTO/VIDEO OF ME NAKED with the d*,ck pics😅😅

Microsoft has announced a significant milestone in quantum computing with the unveiling of Majorana 1, the first quantum processor based on topological qubits. This achievement is the result of over 17 years of research aimed at developing new materials and architectures for quantum computing.

Unlike traditional qubits, which are highly sensitive to external interference, Majorana 1 uses Majorana fermions —particles predicted in 1937 by physicist Ettore Majorana and experimentally confirmed in 2012. These particles are unique because they act as their own antiparticles and combine the properties of semiconductors and superconductors, making them more resilient to errors.

As part of this project, Microsoft created the "world's first topological superconductor," a new material that can detect and manipulate Majorana particles to produce more stable qubits. The current version of the Majorana 1 chip contains eight topological qubits, but Microsoft aims to scale the technology to eventually fit a million qubits onto a single chip.
