WIRED has some good takes in some places but this one was fucking wild.
Google has released Android 15 QPR2 Beta 3! This is the third and final beta (excluding .X releases) for the second quarterly release of Android 15, set for rollout in March 2025.

The update is rolling out for the Pixel 6 and later with build ID BP11.241210.004.

I had heard this was coming today but I was hoping it wouldn't given how busy this week is💀
Some European Pixel 9 users are seeing the Emergency SOS feature after updating to Android 15 QPR2 Beta 3.

While they're able to access the feature through Settings and also do the satellite pointing demo, it's unclear if ESOS is actually rolling out in Europe.

This is because while Skylo does support Europe, Google hasn't confirmed whether it's signed a partnership with Garmin or another emergency services provider to actually respond to ESOS reports in Europe.

At launch, this feature was officially only made available in the U.S.
Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy S25 series at Galaxy Unpacked!

Here’s EVERYTHING you need to know about them. They’re tougher, faster, and packed full of new AI features from Google and @SamsungMobileUS.

Rejoice: The Samsung Galaxy S25 supports seamless updates!

The S25 is the first Samsung flagship to support seamless updates, letting them take OTA updates in the background.

More details on what this means can be found in this article.
Big news: Samsung and Google are working on AR Glasses powered by Android XR to compete with Meta!
BTW: Android 16 Beta 1 might be coming tomorrow…

Google told me that the Pixel 9 will get beta access to Android’s improved LE Audio support for hearing aids tomorrow (Jan 23)…and in their press release, they said these improvements will be available through the Android 16 beta.

That means it's likely Beta 1 is coming tomorrow, though Google wouldn't explicitly confirm that. Still, that’s not too surprising since Google already said it’d come sometime in January.
