Internet Archive hacked, data breach impacts 31 million users
The Internet Archive has suffered a data breach, exposing 31 million user records. A 6.4GB authentication database named "ia_users.sql" was stolen by an unknown threat actor, containing email addresses, bcrypt-hashed passwords, and other internal data.
Exposed record of Scott Helme:
The breach was announced through a JavaScript alert on archive.org (image attached). It is unclear how the hack occurred.
Additionally, the site was hit by a DDoS attack by the BlackMeta hacktivist group
