"Browser Fingerprinting Using WebAssembly", 2025.

Abstract—Web client fingerprinting has become a widely used technique for uniquely identifying users, browsers, operating systems, and devices with high accuracy. While it is beneficial for applications such as fraud detection and personalized expe- riences, it also raises privacy concerns by enabling persistent
tracking and detailed user profiling. This paper introduces an advanced fingerprinting method using WebAssembly (Wasm)—a low-level programming language that offers near-native execution speed in modern web browsers. With broad support across major browsers and growing adoption, WebAssembly provides a strong foundation for developing more effective fingerprinting methods. In this work, we present a new approach that leverages WebAssembly’s computational capabilities to identify return- ing devices—such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desk- tops—across different browsing sessions.

Our method uses subtle differences in the WebAssembly JavaScript API implementation to distinguish between Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, even when identifiers such as the User-Agent are completely spoofed, achieving a false-positive rate of less than 1%. The fingerprint is generated using a combination of CPU-bound operations, memory tasks, and I/O activities to capture unique browser behaviors. We validate
this approach on a variety of platforms, including Intel, AMD,
and ARM CPUs, operating systems such as Windows, macOS,
Android, and iOS, and in environments like VMWare, KVM, and VirtualBox.

Extensive evaluation shows that WebAssembly-based fingerprinting significantly improves identification accuracy. We also propose mitigation strategies to reduce the privacy risks
associated with this method, which could be integrated into future browser designs to better protect user privacy.

OnePlus Nord 5 spotted on Geekbench running Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

OnePlus Nord 5 is likely rebranded version of OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition which is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400e SoC, which is essentially Dimensity 9300+ rebranded. Dimensity 9400e is almost 50% more powerful than Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 which OnePlus gave to global regions. It will launch on 8th July globally alongside OnePlus Nord CE 5.

🇺🇸 Big Beautiful Bill Unleashes Palantirs AI

It quietly gives AI sweeping powers—and bans states from resisting it. That’s right: local governments must comply with federal AI adoption or face penalties.

Meanwhile, Palantir—CIA’s favorite tech firm—just secured another $795M military contract. Their software (like Gotham and Foundry) is already used in war zones and police departments.

This isn’t just about tech—it’s about total surveillance.

📡 I break down the bill, the AI tools, and what this means for your freedom.

There is no evidence of a court order to completely remove or shut down AOSP.

The Department of Justice's proposed Android divestiture is an option if behavioral remedies fail, but it is not a matter of removing AOSP.
Don't worry.

Well
Google will have more control over development and code release timing.

Important changes like Pixel device trees and hardware components may appear with a temporary delay or removal, but will still be released once finalized.

The news that AOSP will soon be dead is more of a rumor than a fact.

Unlike my previous project, kaeru, this is a legit exploit that probably affects a bunch of newer MediaTek SoCs (even though I've only tested this with Pacman for now).

I'm still working on a PoC that should let you do pretty much whatever you want (similar to what kaeru can do right now) at the bootloader level.

That includes things like disabling boot warnings, adding your own custom fastboot commands, or even faking the TEE lock state on devices where kaeru can't be used.

More details coming soon, hopefully.

Black Basta’s old affiliates are back—now using Teams phishing plus Python scripts to silently hijack networks.

Half their attacks come from legit-looking Microsoft domains, fooling security teams.

Here are some more changes we spotted in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2:

1) The positions of the WiFi and mobile data icons have been swapped. WiFi is now to the right of mobile data, like on iOS.

2) Battery health assistance is now available under Settings > Battery > Battery health. This feature manages your battery's long term health and performance.

3) You can now swipe away apps much more quickly in the recents menu.

4) In the Wallpaper & Style app, there's a new 'Wallpaper Studio' section at the top with 'live effects', 'AI wallpaper', and 'emoji workshop.' 'Live effects' gives you quick access to the Magic Portrait wallpaper feature introduced in QPR1 Beta 1. This section basically just makes these wallpaper features more visible/easier to access.
