ArcoLinux is shutting down after eight years

ArcoLinux, an Arch-based Linux distribution founded by Erik Dubois in 2017, is shutting down after eight years because he's nearing 60 and now doesn't have the same mental sharpness/stamina.

All the projects, including Arcoinstall, Carli, Alci, Ariser, tools, apps, scripts, etc. are ending. A transition package is being provided which will convert your current ArcoLinux installation to an Arch Linux installation, and support will be provided till July 1st, 2025.

All the websites, code, videos and documentation will remain online for others to learn, fork or remix.

On my Laptop I use Windows 11 IoT LTSC, Recall in EU Is already disabled by default, but there are some very simple PowerShell commandos ti disabile It, but I have ti say that Windows 11 IoT LTSC runs very well and has never given me any problems, in fact, I had problems with Windows 10 IoT LTSC

I used these when EU Recall was active and they worked great

Open a Terminal (or Powershell) as administrator

> Check if Recall is enabled with this command:
Dism /Online /Get-Featureinfo /Featurename:Recall

> Disable Recall (if it is active) with this command:
Dism /Online /Disable-Feature /Featurename:Recall

> Enable Recall with this command:
Dism /Online /Enable-Feature /Featurename:Recall

On some PCs I was forced to reinstall it 4 times every day and even on PCs that had installations that worked fine, then from March 2024 they made it super unstable that even my father was complaining, now they all have Windows 11 IoT LTSC and they no longer have a single problem

Recently Pi-Hole has been mentioned as a great network defense against tracking. It will not block the telegram ads but most standard website trackers and sniffers. The program does not have to be installed on a Raspberry Pi, but can be installed to a spare system that runs Linux. It will need some processing power for the blocking it does. The database can be rather large of the number of blocked domains.

Also a word of caution it can break websites of your services. If you have Spectrum internet service this will break their site. Utilities and financial institutions track you heavily. All in the name of preventing fraud.
