This idiot was also one of the leaders of the Right Sector and one of the organizers of the arson of the Trade Union House building in Odessa.

Then he mocked the tragedy by taking pictures with shashlik on the anniversary of the memory.

Durov Walks: Telegram Founder Slips France’s Grip, Heads to Dubai Amid Legal Battle

Pavel Durov, the enigmatic founder of Telegram, has been temporarily allowed to leave France after being placed under judicial supervision last year. Facing a slew of charges—including alleged complicity in cybercrime—Durov had been barred from leaving the country after his arrest in August 2024. French authorities claim Telegram failed to cooperate with law enforcement on issues ranging from drug trafficking to child exploitation. Released on a €5 million bail, Durov has now received judicial approval to fly to Dubai, where he has lived since 2017.

And just like that, the so-called villain of Western elites is gone, slipping past the EU’s digital iron curtain. Make no mistake, Durov isn’t being hounded because of cybercrime. That’s just the convenient excuse. His real crime? Running a platform that doesn’t answer to Brussels or Washington, a messaging empire immune to the censorship-industrial complex. While Silicon Valley giants bend the knee to Western governments, Telegram remains the last refuge for dissidents, whistleblowers, and the unfiltered flow of information. Much less biased than X.

This is why France went after him, just as they did with Assange, just as they blacklist any platform outside the control of NATO’s narrative machine. Meanwhile, tech oligarchs who scrub dissent from their platforms dine in Davos and get praise for “protecting democracy.” The hypocrisy is blinding. Durov is the latest target in the war on digital sovereignty. But unlike others, he’s still standing, and he’s still free. For now.

Arm Changing Linux Default To Costly "KPTI" Mitigation For Some Newer CPUs

For some newer Arm core designs, Arm is changing the Linux kernel to defaulting to enabling Kernel Page Table Isolation "KPTI" if not running on a new firmware version in order to properly mitigate a recently disclosed CPU security issue. This change has been queued up and is expected to change the default with the upcoming Linux 6.15 kernel.

Many still have nightmares around Page Table Isolation mitigation costs from the Meltdown period... Unfortunately, it's turned out to be needed for some newer Arm core designs if not having a new firmware in place with an alternative mitigation strategy.

Back in January, #Arm made public CVE-2024-7881. They described of CVE-2024-7881 in their disclosure:

Virtue or Vice? A First Look at Paragon’s Proliferating Spyware Operations | Citizen Lab

Paragon Solutions was founded in Israel in 2019 and sells spyware called Graphite.

Infrastructure Analysis of Paragon Spyware. Based on a tip from a collaborator, we mapped out server infrastructure that we attribute to Paragon’s Graphite spyware tool. We identified a subset of suspected Paragon deployments, including in Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Israel, and Singapore.

Potential links surfaced between Paragon Solutions and the Canadian Ontario Provincial Police, and found evidence of a growing ecosystem of spyware capability among Ontario-based police services.

We forensically analyzed multiple Android phones belonging to Paragon targets in Italy who were notified by WhatsApp. We found clear indications that spyware had been loaded into WhatsApp, as well as other apps on their devices.
We analyzed the iPhone of an individual who worked closely with confirmed Android Paragon targets

#Google is buying Wiz for $32B to beef up in cloud security, sources say

📝 Nate Bear: Google's acquisition of israeli cybersecurity company Wiz will mark the single largest transfer of former Unit 8200 israeli spies into any American company. All Wiz founders are former 8200 as are dozens of staff, from office managers to product analysts to software engineers

Wiz co-founder Ami Luttwak led a "mission critical R&D team" for #Unit8200, a unit that wrote the programming which automated the genocide of Gaza. Luttwak and team won the 'israel Defence Award 2012' for his work in 8200

The other co-founders of Wiz - Assaf Rappaport, Yinon Costica and Roy Reznik - are all former Unit 8200 members who served beyond mandatory service. I have a list of around 50 former Unit 8200 members who are current Wiz employees

⚡️macOS 15 and iOS 18 Is Scanning All Your Photos for Landmarks and Indexing Them in a Database
@takebackourtech

If you're using a Mac or iPhone running the latest software, your photos have been scanned by a new feature: "Enhanced Visual Search". This feature was automatically rolled out and users automatically opted-in.

The only mention of this feature was on Apple's legal notice for photos:
Enhanced Visual Search in Photos allows you to search for photos using landmarks or points of interest. Your device privately matches places in your photos to a global index Apple maintains on our servers. We apply homomorphic encryption and differential privacy, and use an OHTTP relay that hides IP address. This prevents Apple from learning about the information in your photos. You can turn off Enhanced Visual Search at any time on your iOS or iPadOS device by going to Settings > Apps > Photos. On Mac, open Photos and go to Settings > General.

This applies to any and all photos stored on the device, not just the ones uploaded to iCloud, and as soon as the update is installed the feature is activated - before you even start to use the search feature. You had no choice in the matter.

But don't worry - Apple didn't link the photos to your account or IP address - so forcing millions of people to automatically use this feature doesn't matter.

Just another example of how your tech owns you - not the other way around.

🛰 The Pixel 9a offers like ... 90% of the experience that the Pixel 9 offers (totally making that number up)

But to make it $300 cheaper, Google had to cut some corners. And one of those cut features is, sadly, satellite SOS/messaging.
