Here's how Android 16 Live Notification will look

Google announced that Android 16 will introduce Live Updates, a special notifications for ongoing activities like rideshare pickups, food delivery alerts, and navigation. At their core is a new type of notification called a progress-centric notification, which contains a progress bar that advances over time and is optionally split into different segments.

Developer Viktor Mykhaliv created a demo app to show it off, and Android Authority used it to show the full experience.

Tapping the status bar chip reveals the full notification. On AOD, they appear in full as a wireframe, unlike other notifications that appear only as icons.

Live Updates will be enabled by default for any app that creates an ongoing notification (progress-centric or not) and provides a short summary of the most critical information. If an app misuses it, you’ll be able to disable Live Updates for it by toggling “show live info” in Settings

Introducing NEO Gamma Humanoid

NEO Gamma is the next generation of home humanoids designed & engineered by Norway's 1X Technologies.

NEO now walks with a natural human gait & arm swings, squat down to pick things up & sit in chairs, all while maintaining balance. These dynamic control skills – running at 100Hz – are learned using Reinforcement Learning from human motion capture data. This range of motion allows NEO Gamma to experience household scenarios & tasks that would be otherwise inaccessible to other robot form factors.

1X trained a visual manipulation model capable of picking up a large variety of objects in different scenarios. NEO Gamma leverages neural networks trained to predict teleoperated actions directly from raw sensor data.

NEO Gamma features 4 mics with beamforming & echo cancellation, and a 3-speaker system—one in the chest for AI voice interactions and 2 outward-facing speakers in the pelvis for bass, 360° sound effects & music.

Nothing Phone 3a Series Essential Key Explained
Source

Nothing Phone 3a series will feature a dedicated button, called 'Essential Key' that will invoke Nothing's custom AI, housed within an app called “Essential Space.” which is an "AI-powered hub" to store digital content like screenshots, voice notes, and photos.

Press: Capture and send content directly to Essential Space.
Long-Press: Record a voice note.
Double-Tap: Access all saved content in Essential Space.
Inside the phone's native Camera app, you can single-press the Essential Key to click a photo.

This feature is basically similar to Google Pixel's exclusive Pixel screenshots as Essential Space can retrieve key information from the images saved online or summarize & transcribe your thoughts & record them, but comes with a dedicated button. Some features will even require signing into your Nothing Account and agreeing with their Terms & Conditions before using it.

The Fake Video Comparison by Nothing

The video which Nothing used for comparison was shot while cycling at 4K 30fps. However, people caught Nothing in 8K that the iPhone's video was shot on ULTRAWIDE camera instead and on 3a Pro it was recorded on main sensor.

Nothing, 3 days later, "quietly" pinned a YouTube comment acknowledging the same that they "mistakenly" edited an UW video of iPhone & exported it instead of one with standard lens and "they had no intent to mislead".
Even after that, Nothing did NOT show the video shot using the iPhone's standard lens, nor did they cared to inform anyone about this mishap on twitter or through any youtube short/video.

Microsoft Edge stable finally ships the RAM Limiter feature to everyone. Dubbed "Resource controls", it lets users control how much memory the browser uses. If you're someone who enjoys gaming on your computer, this could be particularly helpful because it allows you to allocate resources more efficiently.

To access this feature, open the browser settings and navigate to System and Performance, then select Performance Management. Here, you can set the amount of memory the browser can use, ranging from 1 GB up to the maximum available on your device. You also have the option to apply these limits all the time or only when you're playing games.

Microsoft was testing this for almost a year. Now it is rolling out gradually to Edge stable users.

What is Fingerprint Spoofing & How It Works

In Android, a fingerprint is a unique identifier tied to the specific ROM your device is running, not the hardware.
Fingerprint spoofing is used to bypass Google Play Integrity and SafetyNet checks by making your device appear as if it's running a different ROM, such as a stock Pixel 8. This can be done using built-in GMS spoofing in some ROMs or with a Play Integrity Fix (PIF) module to mimic official, unmodified software.

How It Works

Fingerprint spoofing helps pass Google's Play Integrity and SafetyNet checks, which ensure a device is running legitimate Android. When using a custom ROM or a rooted device, the fingerprint reflects the modified build, and Google may flag it as tampered. Spoofing the fingerprint makes the device appear unmodified, allowing you to bypass these checks.
It is often used alongside other tweaks, like editing the build.prop file, to further bypass restrictions and use apps that may block modified devices.

Why It Matters

When you flash a custom ROM, such as LineageOS, the fingerprint changes to match the new ROM. By spoofing the fingerprint, your device appears to run official software, bypassing integrity checks.

Note: Popular fingerprints, like those from the Pixel 8, may eventually get banned due to widespread use. To avoid this, it's better to use a less common or private fingerprint.
