Samsung is one of the least friendly companies for modders. The US version cannot have the bootloader unlocked, so there is no Linux and no degoogled Android for it.

Thats not entirely true John. There are exploits, but its entirely dependent on the Phone Model, and which Bootloader it has. Samsung does monitor for exploits, and will issue a Patch immediately in the form of a "Security Update" (their security that your Phone will still be theirs).
