Training teaches people to see risk — threat hunting proves whether it still exists. Real security starts before the first alert.

Mozilla has started testing Firefox VPN, a free, browser-only virtual private network integrated directly into Firefox. This service routes user traffic through intermediary servers in various countries to mask IP addresses. It represents the first step in Mozilla’s initiative to embed additional privacy and security tools into the browser. The feature is currently in an early implementation phase and will undergo testing with a small group of randomly selected users in the US over the next few months.

Firefox VPN differs from Mozilla’s existing paid product, Mozilla VPN, which offers system-wide protection across up to five devices. The new browser-based version operates exclusively within Firefox and activates for the entire browser via a button in the address bar. Developers plan to add functionality that allows users to enable the VPN selectively for individual tabs or specific websites. Mozilla emphasizes that Firefox VPN remains a distinct, free offering limited to browser use.

Microsoft OneDrive is rolling out AI face recognition for your photos

You can turn the feature OFF, but only “three times a year,” and Microsoft hasn’t clarified what that actually means.

To disable (for now), go to the Privacy & Permissions → People section.

Friends,

We regret to inform our community that the Freedom Cells website (FreedomCells.org) is not currently active.

In truth, it has not been functioning correctly for some months. We apologize for that and for any inconvenience.

Our goal is always to help foster local connections in hopes of building a decentralized network of freedom communities. We have succeeded in that, but we know we can do better.

At the same time, at the end of the day, the Freedom Cell Network is not on a website or even on Telegram. It is in the real world. It is in each of you who go out and connect with like minds in your area and start focusing on solutions for building independence and autonomy.

Still, we recognize that the website has been a useful tool and we want to have it available for those who are struggling to find people in their area.

We are putting together a plan to rebuild the website and do it in a way that is more secure, more private, and more decentralized than ever.

Please stay tuned and keep building.

Looks like none of the 69 authors in Android Authority is interested in posting about others' leaks after their own "exclusive" leak about Pixel 10 series will feature the MediaTek modem turned out to be fake.

Xiaomi's HyperOS: Where Every Third-Party App Gets an 'Exit Interview'

Xiaomi allows users to uninstall system apps like gallery from its hyperOS. While doing it, Xiaomi has added an interface that will warn the users about cons of uninstalling that particular system app like, when uninstalling the gallery app, "photos and albums could not be viewed" etc

However, its Xiaomi, thus Xiaomi's own software interfaces have NO authentication at all. So, 3rd apps like Byte dance and Kuaishou are now abusing this feature to scare users if they try to uninstall their app.

For example, when you try to uninstall TikTok, it will show a prompt saying that:
"You will not be able to see the latest updates from your friends or the authors you follow, nor will you receive messages from your friends."

Xiaomi can't even implement app uninstallation properly in their software smh
