MX Linux often thought as a great compromise for those that did not like systemd. Going forward there is a change in how that will be delivered; fresh installs will be offered which init to run at install. For those of you who run MX Linux let us know if there are losses of software usability under SysVInit.

⚡️China’s 10-Year Plan for AI Dystopia

China’s State Council has unveiled AI+, a sweeping initiative to saturate every layer of society with artificial intelligence. By 2027, they want 70% penetration of “intelligent terminals”—devices with universal connectivity across vehicles, phones, homes, robots, and wearables. If successful, the next phase pushes toward 90%, moving the nation into what they call an “intelligent economy.”

This isn’t just about technology. The plan calls for AI to dominate scientific discovery, industrial production, consumer behavior, education, and even governance. Public security systems will monitor natural persons, digital identities, and robots alike. AI-driven disaster response, welfare management, and social experiments are all on the table.

China isn’t experimenting—they’re engineering a future where AI is everywhere, all at once.

Anonmail Demo

During my chat on The Corbett Report’s Solutions Watch, I gave a sneak peek at our very own aliasing tool: AnonMail. It’s part of the Above Suite — bundled with privacy essentials like CryptoChat, Internet Phone, VPN, secure calendar, file sharing, and more.

In this clip, I walk through how it works, show how easy it is to spin up a random alias, and even test it by signing up for dozens of lists. The result? Not a single piece of spam made it through.

⚡️WhatsApp Head of Security Fired After Raising Privacy Concerns

The former Head of Security for WhatsApp, Attaullah Baig, has filed a retaliation lawsuit against Meta for firing him after he tried to improve security at WhatsApp.

Baig discovered through red-teaming that 1,500 engineers at Meta had production access to WhatsApp user data, including address books and contact information of friends. Even as Head of Security, he was blocked from logging access to data, creating an inventory of what was stored, or mapping the infrastructure.

When he warned leadership that WhatsApp may be in violation of its FTC order, he was met with retaliation until he was forced out. Inside WhatsApp, leadership downplayed issues and dismissed privacy concerns.

Once again, we see that user growth and profits came first—while protecting people’s privacy never seemed to matter.

⚡️Stack Wallet - Open Source

Our community has been pining for a reliable wallet that respects people’s privacy. I’m happy to say StackWallet fits the bill.

I spoke personally with the founder and learned it’s a wallet that is doing things properly. It’s completely open-source, non-custodial, and privacy-preserving by default. You can choose StackWallet official nodes or pick your own, and it has a custom backup to restore all your wallets if needed.

The UI/UX is excellent, making it a friendly wallet that supports Monero, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and others—with proper support for Monero. It also has a built-in exchange for quick in-app trades, plus a private mode that turns off connections for coin prices (no third-party connections).

Check it out today: https://stackwallet.com

We discuss the subtle difference between being a conspiracy theorist and being a conspiracy realist—more importantly, what does it mean to be “Open Source News”—and the effects of technology on people’s ability to truly understand a subject deeply.

⚡️What Is an Email Alias (and Why Use One)?

Data leaks don’t just happen to small groups — they happen to companies with billion-dollar budgets. Yahoo, Marriott, Facebook… all lost hundreds of millions of records, including credit cards and passports. And most of the time, they don’t even bother to notify you.

That’s why we can’t count on Big Tech to protect us. Taking responsibility for our own privacy is essential. Using tools like email aliases is one simple step toward protecting your identity and keeping control of your digital life.

In this clip from The Corbett Report’s Solutions Watch, I break down why self-responsibility is the key to online safety.

🎓 The Digital Age of Education

Starting in 2020, schools rapidly adopted “one device per student” programs—placing tablets and lockdown laptops in the hands of nearly every child.

These changes were sold as necessary for learning, but they also introduced new risks: constant screen exposure, state-mandated devices, and data-driven monitoring that follows kids from the classroom into their homes.

Parents deserve to understand how this shift impacts their children and what alternatives exist.
