OnePlus started restricting bootloader unlocking, first in China
OnePlus Community
Recently, Samsung stopped bootloader unlocking support with OneUI 8 release and now OnePlus has also started restricting bootloader unlocking with the upcoming ColorOS 16 or OxygenOS 16 release. OnePlus has announced that it is making its bootloader unlocking policy now similar to Realme smartphones i.e you need to apply to join the in-depth testing program through official channels.
Apparently, for now, these requirements are only applicable to users in China. Also, the first batch of OnePlus phones and tablets equipped with ColorOS 16 in the second half of the year will adopt this policy. Plus, There is currently no quota limit either as seen with Xiaomi. Device will still be covered in warranty after unlocking bootloader

Tricky Store OSS: A tricky of keystore they forgot to hide
Remember when someone said:
Translation: "Thanks for the PRs, I'll take it from here… behind locked doors."
- AOSP headers? Borrowed/License headers stripped.
- LGPLv3 library? Linked statically, license violated.
- "PRs welcome"? Sure — until it's "all rights reserved."
Know more: https://github.com/beakthoven/TrickyStoreOSS/blob/main/docs/5ec1cff-violations.md
So I built Tricky Store OSS:
- 100% FOSS (GPLv3 licensed)
- Clean rewrite, not “borrowed or forked"
- Same features, less sus
If your keystore hack locks the source along with your bootloader... maybe it’s time for OSS.

Due to the rampant misuse and the contributions received after open-sourcing being less than expected, this module will be closed-source

Your first look at the successor of the Windows Phone — The Cancelled Microsoft Surface Duo Running Windows 10X
Microsoft was making a successor to the windows phone codenamed 'Andromeda' & it ran a custom version of the Windows OS built from the ground up for this new form factor. These images were discovered in listings on Chinese commerce platform GooFish, and includes a whole bunch of prototype Andromeda hardware from 2017 and 2018.
These images give us a close look at the Andromeda hardware, and confirm a number of differences compared to the Surface Duo that shipped. Andromeda had a back camera system, built-in wireless charging for the Surface Slim Pen, and a metal frame that gave it a more premium feel. The original Surface Duo omitted all of these things because of weight as Microsoft wanted a light-weight device.
Interestingly, Some Andromeda hardware prototype had a secondary monochrome camera sensor, which was designed to help scan 3D objects. At the time, Microsoft was on a 3D kick with HoloLens and the Windows 10 Creators Update.
The listings on GooFish also reveal an even earlier & very interesting Andromeda prototype that was a different shape than Surface Duo. It was built on Microsoft's new at the time Windows Core OS, and featured a universal shell that was purpose built for the dual-screen form factor.
These earlier models are slightly narrower and taller, with a home button underneath the displays which was a digital journal that was always ready to ink on, letting the user jot down notes or create reminders, sticky notes, and more. Apps would run above the journal, accessed via the Start menu which could be opened by swiping from the left on the left display. Cortana was both your digital assistant and notification center, accessed via a swipe from the right hand side of the right display. The lock screen was also a digital inking canvas, ready to be written or drawn on with the Surface Pen.
This surface Neo machine is being sold on Goofish for CNY 98999.01 (~14,000$)
